Cohen Hits a One-outer To Make Quads

Joel Cohen was all in for 39,525 on a flop of {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {3-Hearts} against Robert Damelian. Cohen had flopped middle set holding {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds}, but was well behind Damelian's {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} and a higher set.

The turn was the {8-Clubs}, keeping Damelian's set of aces in the lead.

The river delivered the miracle {10-Clubs} for Cohen, giving him his one-outer and quads to take down the pot. He's now up to 90,000.

Hibbott Takin' Ova Chip Lead

After action checked to him, David Hibbott fired 1,600 on a flop of {9-Hearts} {5-Spades} {2-Clubs}. One player folded and then the player that had checked made the call.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and Hibbott fired another 1,600 after his opponent checked. Again, he was called.

After the {10-Diamonds} hit the felt on the river, both players checked. Hibbott tabled {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for a pair of nines and raked in the pot.

Hibbott's up to 124,000. He's the new chip leader.

High Roller Final Table Begins

Running concurrently with Day 1b of the Main Event is the final table of the APPT Sydney Grand Final High Roller's event. The players have just been called to their seats and the tournament is about to get underway.

Leading the way is Aussie online pro Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis, who enters the final table with 116,800 in chips.

We'll keep you posted on this event as the night progresses.

Moussa's No More

We didn't catch how the preflop action went down, but we do know both Joesph Moussa and Jason Walter were all in, Moussa for his tournament life.

With the cards on their backs Moussa was well behind with {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}. Walter held pocket jacks, and would need to fade one of three aces to take the pot. The board rolled out {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {4-Clubs} and Walter's jacks held, busting Moussa from the tournament.

After the hand Jason Walter stacked up about 40,000.

Guzzardi Back Up

A player opened with a raise to 1,200 and one player called before action fell on Michael "TheBigSiCkO" Guzzardi in the big blind. He called and the flop came down {K-Clubs} {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds}. Guzzardi checked to the preflop raiser and he fired 1,000. The next player called and then Guzzardi raised to 3,050. Both players folded and Guzzardi scooped the pot. He's on 41,000.

Small Tassle Between Steicke and Kim

From the cutoff seat, David Steicke raised to 1,250. Wooka Kim took some time on the button and then made the call. The two players have been involved in multiple pots together and took a flop of {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs}.

Steicke fired a continuation bet of 1,250, the same amount he raised to preflop. Kim fired back with a raise to 3,000. Steicke flashed the {7-Hearts} and mucked his hand .

Kim moved up to 41,000 and Steicke slid a tiny bit to 46,000.

Four-bet Fold from Guzzardi

When our crack team of reporters is out on the floor looking for action, a quick trip to Michael 'TheBigSiCkO' Guzzardi's table usually does the trick.

In a recent hand, a player opened with a raise to 950 from under-the-gun. Guzzardi then three-bet to 2,625, his opponent four-bet to 5,950 and Guzzardi tossed his cards into the muck pile. The hand left Guzzardi with 35,000 in chips, but certainly hasn't slowed him down as he's continued to push the action at his table, getting involved in just about every three or four hands.
