Jarred Graham Makin' a Name for Himself

Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham
Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham

Jarred "FlopNutsOnYou" Graham is having a great series here in Sydney for the PokerStars.net APPT Grand Final. He's already successfully defended his title in the High Roller's event and is currently sitting towards the top of the leaderboard here.

Graham is quickly becoming a fixture in some of the biggest events in Australia. He's had numerous finishes in his homeland and already with well over AUD$200,000 in tournament earnings this year. Included in his resume are wins at the Joe Hachem Deep Stack Series at Crown Casino in Melbourne and at the Sydney Championships right here in Sydney. He took second in the 2009 Melbourne Texas Hold'em Championship High Roller Event and also has a cash in the Aussie Millions back in 2008.

Graham has grinded his way throughout this tournament and yielded a big stack most of the time. No one seems to be able to put a chink in this guy's armor and he's setting up for a very deep run. Already guaranteed some money in the Main Event, it will be once heck of a series for Graham once completed.

Lynn caught up with Jarred earlier in the week about his double High Roller Event victory:

Eric Assadourian
Team PokerStars Australia Pro Eric Assadourian has just been eliminated from the APPT Sydney Grand Final by Wayne Carlson.

Carlson opened the pot with a raise to 25,000 from the cutoff and Assadourian, next to act, moved all in over the top for a total of 42,000. Carlson made the call and the following showdown ensued:

Carlson: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}
Assadourian {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board then filled out {K-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades} giving Carlson a pair of kings, which was enough to send Assadourian to the rail.

Michael Wong Eliminated in 25th Place ($13,068)

Aaron Benton is quickly proving he's got plenty of run-good left in the tank after eliminating yet another opponent in Michael Wong.

Benton opened the pot with a raise to 25,000 from the button and the action then fell to Wong in the small blind who moved all in over the top for a total of 206,000. Benton made the call and tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}; he'd soon be racing against Wong's pocket threes.

The {10-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop gave Benton top pair, top kicker and his hand only improved on the turn and river, which brought running aces giving Benton a full house. After the hand, he stacked up right around 980,000 in chips, while Wong collected $13,068 for his 25th place finish.

Assadourian Drawn Out On

Eric Assadourian just lost another important pot, this time to Wayne Carlson. Carlson held two queens and Assadourian two kings. After rivering a set when the {K-Hearts} hit the board, Assadourian called a bet from Carlson. He only called because the {K-Hearts} put four hearts on the board. Carlson held the {Q-Hearts} to go along with his pocket queens and won the pot.

"How do I lose?" complained Assadourian.

Benton opened with a raise to 25,000 from under-the-gun and Campbell reraised from the hijack, making it 68,000 to play. Action then folded back around the table to Benton who moved all in and Campbell made the call for about 213,000.

The board then ran out {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Benton's aces held up to win the 450,000 pot to move to 780,000 on the day.

Eric Assadourian Doubles Through Ivin

Mike Ivin raised it up to 36,000 under the gun, and Team PokerStars Pro Eric Assadourian moveed all-in for 140,000 total. Ivin made the call, and showed the {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. Assadourian was in great shape with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and it got even better when the board came out {j-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}.

After the hand Assadourian announced that he was back in this tournament, and sits on 300,000. Ivin slips to 260,000.
