One Out is Plenty

A short-stacked player was all in before the flop for about 15,000 with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}, and he was in good shape to double up against the {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} of Takashi Ogura. Very good shape, in fact, as one of the players at the table commented that he folded a queen.

The dealer had other plans though. The board ran down {5-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} (bink!) and that one-outer sends yet another player off to the rail. There are 95 players remaining.

Judges Rules Noh

We caught up with the action when Darren Judges bet enough to put Taejoon Noh all in on a board reading {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Noh made the call and was extremely disgusted to see that his {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} had been out-flopped by Judges' {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The river was the unhelpful {5-Clubs}, and Noh stormed off. Judges padded his chip lead a little more and stayed out of the Noh-bashing as the rest of the table talked about how terribly he played big pocket pairs.

It will be hard for anyone to catch Judges tonight, as he's got 160,000. Noh's exit makes short-stacked Tony Hachem the last member of Team PokerStars Pro left in today's field.

Chiang Gets Caught

Wei Cheng Chiang checked a {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, and the player behind him checked as well. Brian Green fired 6,000, and Chiang quickly announced a call. The middle player folded, and they went to the {10-Clubs} turn heads up. It was check-check in second as these two are among the fastest actors ever seen at a poker table and have been playing lightening-round pots against each other for the last few hours. The river was the {4-Clubs}, completing a runner-runner club draw. Chiang snap-checked, and Green snap-bet 10,000. Just as fast, Chiang threw out 30,000. That put on the breaks. Green tanked (ok, thought for a few seconds), before making the call for most of his stack. Not what Chiang wanted. He could only show {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for fourth pair. Green's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}, top pair top kicker, was plenty good for the massive pot.

Chiang had been among the chip leaders, so he still had close to 40,000 after the hand. And the table is quite happy to keep Green around for the last level of the night. His enormously augmented paramour has been sitting a few feet away watching every hand for the last six hours, and they've all been sitting there watching her.

Rubie Bleeds a Bit

Brendon Rubie bet 2,400 on a {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and John Chong made it 5,300. Rubie decided to put him all in, and Chong wasn't fooled. He quickly called for another 10,000 with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. "I got nothing," Rubie said, tabling {a-Spades}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river the {2-Spades}, and Chong doubled while Rubie took a hit. But Brendon's got the chips to spare. Even after the hand, he still had a chart-topping 85,000.

Sarah Lee Bakin' Up a Stack

Sarah Lee has done extremely well to get herself out of the gutter and build back her chip stack to a nice, plump 42,000 chips. She was down to as low as 11,000 from what we saw. She just took her {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} against an opponent's {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} in preflop-all-in action and won when the board ran out {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Hachem Running Bad

Hachem can only smile at that one
Hachem can only smile at that one

Tony Hachem hasn't had much luck today and he just moved all in from middle position for his last 7,775. Action folded a few spots over and another player moved all in. That player was all in for only 1,200 though. Everyone else folded and the hands were revealed.

Hachem held the {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and his opponent pocket threes. The flop came down {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Hachem flopped everything, but a hand. He now had outs to a flush, two pair with an ace kicker if a nine fell, or he could hit one of his two overcards. Quite the flop for him. Still, Hachem insisted that his opponent shouldn't worry because he runs so bad.

The turn completed the flush for Hachem when the {6-Spades} fell. His opponent was visibly upset, but Hachem said, "Don't worry, sit down. Trust me, don't worry."

Hachem was right when he told his opponent not to worry as the {3-Diamonds} hit the river. Hachem lost the pot and his short stack got even shorter as the opponent doubled up.

"Listen mate, when I run bad, I run bad!" said Hachem.

Lee Bests Cohen

Sarah Lee
Sarah Lee

Sarah Lee was in middle position and raised it up to 1,200 preflop. On the button sat Julian Cohen and he made the call. The two took a heads-up flop of {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Lee was first up. She was the preflop aggressor, but opted to check the flop. Cohen checked behind.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and Lee fired 3,000. Cohen called. The {6-Hearts} then fell on the river and Lee fired 6,000. After some time in the tank, Cohen made the call. Lee tabled the {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Cohen showed only the {9-Hearts} before mucking. Lee has herself back up to 27,500 chips now.
