It’s down to nine at the APPT Melbourne Main Event, with the elimination of Aharon Shabtay in 10th place bringing Day 3 proceedings to a close.

What started as 37 players has been whittled down to a final table of 9, each vying for the $330,000 first prize and the bragging rights to go with it.

Some of the players who started the day, but went home empty handed include Reza Vakili, Tony Hachem and the official bubble-boy Jefferey Garrett.

The prominent names who managed to cash include PokerStars Team Online Pro Keiran Harris (24th place), Ricky Kroesen (23rd place), Antonis Kambouroglou (21st place), Michael Guzzardi (15th place) and James Obst (11th place).

But without further ado let us introduce to you, in order of chips, the final table of the first stop in the fifth season of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour.

As you can see, it’s Phillip Willcocks out in front with a big chip lead. Willcocks received most of his chips earlier in the day, from 28th place finisher Koray Turker.

Leo Boxell is in contention, with him the only other player to crack seven-figures, while Phares Bouya and Michael Frydman sit with healthy stacks. Van Marcus and Eddie Mascardi will start the day as the two short-stacks, but will still have plenty of chips to play with.

All the action will kick off tomorrow at 2.10 pm AEST, so make sure to tune in as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team is in the midst of all the action and ready to crown an APPT champion!
