Tureniec vs. Nguyen

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Minh Nguyen opened for 1,000 from middle position and received a call from Michael Tureniec on the button. The blinds both folded and it was heads-up action to the {k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. Nguyen continued for 2,400, his Swedish opponent made the call, and the {K-Clubs} appeared on the turn. Nguyen slowed down with a check, and then folded when Tureniec bet 2,400.

Lin Makes the Wrong Call for His Tournament Life

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Michael Kanaan opened for 1,000 only to have Kai Sheng Yang three-bet to 2,000 from the button. Ping Lin made the call from the big blind, Kanaan called the additional 1,000, and three players saw a flop of {6-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{a-Hearts}.

Two checks saw Yang bet 3,500, Lin called, and Kanaan got out of the way. Both players then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Lin checked for a third time, and that opened the door for Yang to move all in for 16,525.

Lin, who had 15,750 back, seemed tortured by the bet and thought for several minutes before a clock was called. After about 30 seconds, Lin called off his stack and his worst fears were realized. His {a-Spades}{q-Spades} was no good against the {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs} rivered straight of Yang.

Lamb Forces Fold from Nguyen

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a board of {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and the pot sitting around 4,000, Tom Alner led out from the big blind for 2,200 with Edison Nguyen making the call from two seats over.

With the action on Ben Lamb in the small blind, he check-raised to 6,400 to force a fold from Alner but a call from Nguyen as the river landed the {6-Spades}.

Lamb tossed in 10,000, and after a few minutes of deliberation, Nguyen folded while slipping to 18,000 as Lamb approached 90,000 in chips.

The Suri Shove

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Winfred Yu raised to 1,000 from middle position and received a call from India's Jaswinder Suri in the hijack. Patrick Crivell then three-bet to 2,900 from the small blind, both Yu and Suri called, and three players went to the flop, which came down {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Crivell continued for 3,000 and Yu wasted little time in making the call. Suri, who had the biggest stack of the three, then announced that he was all in. Crivell didn't have much back, but opted to fold. Yu did the same.

Full House Gets Lew Paid

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We missed the action, but we arrived just in time to see Team Online's Randy "nanonoko" Lew taking down a big pot. With a board reading {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Lew had bet 12,500 from the button and received a call from his opponent in Seat 4. Lew tabled the {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for a full house, and it was good as his opponent simply mucked.

Crivell Sent Off by Former EPT London Champ

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

It was a rough Day 2 for Patrick Crivell who seemed to be stuck in reverse here in Level 5. In what would be his final hand of the tournament, Patrick Crivell got his last 6,000 or so all in preflop holding the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} only to run into the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} of Aaron Gustavson, who you may recall as the winner of the European Poker Tour London back in Season 6. The board ran out an uneventful {2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and that was all she wrote for Crivell.

As for Gustavson, he recently spoke to PokerNews as a part of their popular Where Are They Now series. "Deciding on what events to play is usually based on if I win a satellite on PokerStars," Gustavson said. "I decided to go to Asia with a friend last year because we wanted to check out Macau and literally spur of the moment booked a flight and went. I don't have some systematic way of deciding on what events to go to or not go to, it's usually pretty impulsive."
