Ling Tong Eliminated in 18th Place (HK$247,500)

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ling Tong - 18th Place
Ling Tong - 18th Place

A sick beat just took place over at Table 3 that resulted in the elimination of Ling Tong.

We didn't catch the action until the turn on a board reading {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. There was about 100,000 in the pot, and Tong had gotten his last 70,000 or so all in against Yifan Zheng.

Zheng: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Tong: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Tong got his chips in with a full house against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Zheng. Obviously Zheng's flush draw was no good, and that meant he needed to spike one of the two remaining aces to steal the pot. Well, we told you it was a sick beat, and that's because the {A-Spades} peeled off on the river.

The table and railbirds reacted sharply while a shell-shocked Tong sought consolation from his girlfriend on the rail.

Lam Spikes Three-Outer

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Peter Chan opened to 11,000 from middle position and Andrew Lam moved all in from the big blind for 93,000 with Chan making the call.

Lam: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Chan: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

With Lam trailing, the {5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop changed little, but it would be the {10-Hearts} on the turn giving him the lead as the {2-Hearts} completed the board on the river. As Lam doubled to nearly 200,000, Chan slipped to 330,000 in chips.

Satrya Teja Eliminated in 19th Place (HK$247,500)

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Satrya Teja - 19th Place
Satrya Teja - 19th Place

A short-stacked Satrya Teja, who if you recall finished as the chip leader at the end of Day 1b, moved all in for 49,000 under the gun and cleared the field to Chane Kampanatsanyakorn, who made the call from the cutoff. The rest of the field got out of the way and the cards were turned up.

Teja: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Kampanatsanyakorn: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

It was a classic flip, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Kampanatsanyakorn was a 53.71% favorite while Teja would survive 45.92% of the time. The {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop didn't hit Teja directly, but it did deliver him a flush draw to go with his overs, which made him a 52.32% favorite.

The {5-Hearts} turn was no help, and Kampanatsanyakorn jumped back into the lead with a 65.91% chance of ending with the best hand. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {6-Spades}. Teja missed and finished in 19th place for HK$247,500.

Tong Spikes the River to Survive

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After Peter Ping San Chan opened for 11,000 on the button, a short-stacked Ling Tong three-bet all in for 54,500 from the small blind. Chan made the call and the cards were turned up.

Tong: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Chan: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Chan was in a dominating position, and he stayed there through the {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and {5-Hearts} turn. Much to Tong's delight — and his girlfriend's on the rail — the {J-Spades} spiked on the river to give him the improbably three outer.

Jan Bendik Eliminated in 20th Place (HK$198,000)

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jan Bendik - 20th place
Jan Bendik - 20th place

Yat Wai Cheng opened to 10,500 and Jan Bendik called from the big blind to see a {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop. Bendik checked and Cheng bet out 7,000 only to have Bendik move all in for 55,000 with Cheng instantly calling.

Bendik: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Cheng: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

With Bendik needing a spade, the turn of the {3-Diamonds} and river of the {A-Clubs} wouldn't be what he was after as he was sent to the rail in 20th place while Cheng moved to over 860,000 in chips.

Tang Chips Up

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Devan Tang limped in from the small blind and Andrew Lam raised to 13,000. Tang called and then proceeded to call 15,500 on the {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} board as the {8-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Lam fired out 30,000 and Tang called before Lam fired for a third street as he bet 55,000 when the river landed the {5-Clubs}. Tang called, and when he tabled his {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, it bested Lam's bluff with {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.
