Davies and Tang With Shoves

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Devan Tang had shoved once again without receiving a call and is slowly climbing up in chips.

Scott Davies also put an opponent to the ultimate test after raising to 16,000 and facing the three-bet worth 46,000 by Meng Dian Peng. The American moved all in and enforced a fold.

Karma is a Dangerous Thing

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Jian Zhang
Jian Zhang

Jian Zhang aka the "captain" celebrated after spiking two aces while holding {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} in a preflop all in situation against the pocket nines of Scott Davies. Thomas Ward had folded one of the two remaining nines, but lady luck was smiling on the American by producing the very last nine out of the deck on the river to send Zhang packing.

"I run so bad," Davies said with a huge grin on the face. "I think I got there because he celebrated so loudly on the flop."

Wittendorff Back on Track

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kim Wittendorff had a valuebet paid off on the river to get back up to almost average stack while Meng Dian Peng dropped to there as a result.

Tang Finds a Double

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Ward called the shove of Devan Tang and flipped over his {Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Tang didn't immediately show his cards but grinned, though Ward is his friend and the two know each other well. "You got aces?" the New Zealander asked but instead Tang rolled over his {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Tang is back to where he started.

Ward Smells Wittendorff's Bluff

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a queen-high board, Kim Wittendorff was trying to represent a big hand but Thomas Ward looked up his river bet on a queen-high board with {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for only a pair of sixes. Wittendorff's {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} was just a busted straight draw and the Dane lost almost half of the stack.

Massive Flip Goes Towards Hu

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Makoto Yoshimichi
Makoto Yoshimichi

The first big showdown on the last two tables eventually took place after Jack Hu flat-called a raise and Percy Yung did so too, from one seat over. Makoto Yoshimichi then three-bet shoved for 235,000 and Hu looked him up with the bigger stack and {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. One could hear a "nice call" from the other players on the table while the Japanese tabled his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

Neither the {3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} flop nor the {9-Hearts} turn changed anything. And none of the six over cards showed up either, as the {9-Clubs} river crowned a new chip leader.

Yung Doubles Through Yoshimichi

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After a multi-way flop of {A-}{J-}{4-}, Percy Yung check-raised all in with {A-}{9-} for top pair and Makoto Yoshimichi ended up calling with the {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for middle pair whereas the other opponent(s) mucked. Both turn and river bricked to send Yung back up in the chip counts.
