Troyanovskiy Not Happy with a Chop

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

"Free-rolling," said a smiling Ronald Yu to Vladimir Troyanovskiy after both had the same hand at showdown. The Russian Pro didn't see the funny side of it though and just shook his head.

Andy Andrejevic opened to 1,000 from the cutoff and was called by Troyanovskiy (button) and Yu in the big blind. The flop fell {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} and the action checked to Troyanovskiy who bet 1,900. Yu was the only caller to the {8-Clubs} turn where both players checked. The board completed with the {7-Hearts} and Troyanovskiy called a 5,200 bet holding {8-Spades}{9-Spades}. Andrejevic opened {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was happy to see no more spades after the flop.

No Deep Run this Year for Lukashaugen

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Tore Lukashaugen came ninth and 13th in the ACOP Main Event the last two years but there will be no deep run for a third year running after he was eliminated.

Former table mate Stephen Chidwick told PokerNews that he lost with aces to kings and dropped to around 10,000 before he three-bet from the big blind and triple-barrel-bluffed off the rest of his chips.

Chidwick Chunked

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick was left with under 10,000 after getting all in against Yat Wai Cheng.

Chidwick opened from early position for 1,100 and three players called. The action fell to Cheng on the button who took a moment before reraising to 5,600. The blinds both folded and Chidwick four bet to 12,500. The three players who called Chidwick's initial raise all folded and the action was back on Cheng.

"How much do you have behind," Cheng asked. Chidwick moved his arms to allow Cheng to see his remaining 20,200 chips.

Cheng then moved all in and Chidwick quickly called. Cheng had {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Chidwick had {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, giving Chidwick a chance at a flush, but the river was the {6-Diamonds} and Cheng took the pot.

Li Leaps in to Lead After Busting Kihara

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Naoya Kihara
Naoya Kihara

Yuguang Li has taken over the chip lead after getting Naoya to call off his stack on the river with a worse hand.

Li (cutoff) called a 1,000 under the gun raise before Kihara squeezed to 4,400 from the blinds. The original raiser folded but Li called to see a {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds} flop. Kihara continued for 4,200 and was called before he checked the {2-Hearts} turn. Li bet 7,000 and Naoya called. The river was the {3-Clubs} and Li set Kihara in for his remaining chips. The PokerStars Team Online player tanked for a while before calling off with ace-king. It was no good though as Li opened {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flopped two pair.

Quad Kings for Karamalikis

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Jonathan Karamalikis won a three way all in when he flopped quads against two players. The first player raised in middle position and Karamalikis called. The third player in went all in and the original raiser called. Karamalikis then went all in and got called as well.

Karamalikis had {k-}{k-} against {a-}{a-} and {10-}{10-}. There was little doubt who would win the hand when Karamalikis flopped quad kings.

Chidwick Not Bjorn Again

Level 6 : 250/500, 50 ante

Stephen Chidwick never managed a spin up and busted recently. That meant three seats were spare at the table and were filled by Patrick Mahoney, Bjorn Li and Daniel Neilson after table 11 was broken.

Li wasted little time in showing his intentions. Kunal Patni opened to 1,500 from mid position and was called by Rathi Shashank on the button before Li squeezed to 3,600 from the big blind. His aggressive move didn't get through though as both opponents called to an {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop that was checked around.

Patni bet 5,600 on the {4-Clubs} turn but he and Li folded quickly after Shashank moved all in for his last 21,500.
