Congratulation to Andy Andrejevic, Winner of ACOP Super High Roller (HK$8,725,000)!

Level 19 : 120,000/240,000, 40,000 ante
Andy Andrejevic - winner!
Andy Andrejevic - winner!

It took just over four levels of play to wrap up the final table of 2015 Asia Championship of Poker HK$500,000 Super High Roller, and when the dust had settled, it was Serbian-American player Andy Andrejevic standing victorious. Andrejevic beat John Juanda heads up to win the coveted title and HK$8,725,000 (approx. $1,112,000).

The final six players returned at 2:30 p.m local time and all were already in the money as play finished on Day 2 after the bubble had burst. Two hours later, three players had already hit the rail.

Erik Seidel came in as the shortest stack and was the first out. He moved all in with ace-seven, but Anton Astapau had ace-ten, called, and took him out.

Astapau himself was out 15 minutes later after when he ran into Andrejevic and couldn't survive despite flopping a set.

The last player out before the break was reigning champion Steve O'Dwyer. Despite beginning the day second in chips behind Andrejevic, he lost a big chunk of his stack when he ran kings into Bryn Kenney's aces. The rest went to Andrejevic, with O'Dwyer's king-queen fairing worse than ace-ten after five cards, and the back-to-back run was over.

Andrejevic, Juanda, and Kenney battled hard for more than two hours without an elimination, then two quick hands at the end of the fourth level saw Kenney depart.

Kenney first doubled with ace-eight to Andrejevic's queen-jack and went to head off for the break, but the dealer quickly gathered the cards and riffled with seconds to spare on the level, so there would be one more to play. That one more hand turned out to be Kenney's last, as he sat back down, picked up king-jack, three-bet all in, and busted to Andrejevic's dominating ace-king.

Heads-up play only lasted four hands before Andrejevic sealed the deal. After he had invested just HK$40,000 into a live satellite for this event, Andrejevic's dreams were made true. As it turned out, Andrejevic was ready to leave Macau, but stayed an extra couple days after his friends begged him, entered the satellite, and won a seat. The rest, as we say, is history.

That's wraps up PokerNews' coverage of Season 9 of the APPT. Season 10 of the tour kicks off in January back here in the City of Dreams for the Macau Millions, quickly followed by the spectacular Aussie Millions down in Melbourne. Click here for more details.

John Juanda Eliminated in 2nd Place ($HK5,547,000)

Level 19 : 120,000/240,000, 40,000 ante
John Juanda - 2nd place
John Juanda - 2nd place

John Juanda three-bet folded the very first hand of heads up and then was out three hands later.

Andy Andrejevic raised to 500,000 from the button before Juanda three-bet to 1,500,000 from the big blind. Andrejevic shoved and Juanda winced and said, "I only looked at one!" He looked at the other and admitted it was bad but still might call. After a minute he showed the {3-Clubs} and folded.

Three hands later, Juanda moved all in for just over 3.5million and Andrejevic called.

Juanda: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Andrejevic: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Junada was happy with what he saw but not for long as the board ran {k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} to give Andrejevic the pot, the scalp and the title!

Level 19 : 120,000/240,000, 40,000 ante
Alan King Lun Lau and Fiancee Amy
Alan King Lun Lau and Fiancee Amy

Alan King Lun Lau is the 2015 Asia Player of the Year. On the final day of the Asia Championship of Poker, Lau celebrated his player of the year honor by proposing to his girlfriend. She said yes and there wasn't much of a sweat, unlike the last week of the APOY race.

Lau was in first place going into the ACOP Main Event. Ka Cheong Wong was only 20 points behind Lau and needed at least a tenth-place finish to take the lead. Won finished in 11th place and all but sealed the deal for Lau.

Congratulations to the newly-engaged Alan King Lun Lau, the 2015 APOY winner.

Bryn Kenney Eliminated in 3rd Place (HKD$3,635,000)

Level 18 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Bryn Kenney - 3rd Place
Bryn Kenney - 3rd Place

Bryn Kenney doubled up on what he thought was the last hand before the ten-minute break. The dealer had already started shuffle and the tournament director called Kenney back to his seat to play one more hand.

That last hand insured that Kenney would have a break longer than ten-minute break. He would be eliminated on the hand by the far-and-away chip leader, Andy Andrejevic. The same player who doubled him up the hand before.

Kenney doubled up when he shoved all in from the button and Andrejevic called from the small blind. John Juanda folded and Kenney turned over {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Andrejevic held {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and couldn't catch up after an ace hit the flop and the run out finished {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The next hand, Andrejevic raised from the button and Kenney was all in again. Andrejevic snap called again, but this time he was ahead and would stay ahead. Andrejevic had {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and Kenney had {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {2-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Kenney was eliminated in third place.

Kenney's elimination leaves EPT12 Barcelona Champion John Juanda heads up with Andy Andrejevic, who won his seat in the satellite held on Day 1 of the Super High-Roller.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated in 4th Place (HK$2,666,000)

Level 16 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Steve O'Dywer - 4th Place
Steve O'Dywer - 4th Place

There will be no first-time double "Spadie" champion after reigning champion Steve O'Dwyer was eliminated.

Andy Andrejevic raised to 285,000 from the button and called after O'Dwyer shoved for 1,975,000 from the small blind.

Andrejevic: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
O'Dwyer: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to make Andrejevic a straight and O'Dwyer two pair. The latter needed to fill up but the {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} turn and river failed to come to his rescue.

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Anton Astapau - fifth place
Anton Astapau - fifth place

Anton Astapau has been eliminated despite flopping a set of queens.

He opened to 200,000 before Andy Andrejevic three-bet to 575,000. Astapau moved all in for around 2,800,000 and Andrejevic made a quick call.

Astapau: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Andrejevic: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. It was a painful turn for Astapau and enabled Andrejevic to extend his lead after making broadway.

Erik Seidel Eliminated in 6th Place (HKD$1,696,200)

Level 15 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Erik Seidel - 6th place
Erik Seidel - 6th place

Anton Astapau was responsible for leaving Erik Seidel with a short stack and he was the one who finished him off.

After shoving on the previous two hands, and getting both all in bets through, Seidel shoved a third time. The action folded to Anton Astapau in the big blind and he took a moment to get a count. After the dealer counted Seidel's chips, it was less than one million to call. Astapau called and saw that he was ahead.

Astapau held {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against the {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} of Seidel. The board ran out {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} eliminating Seidel in 6th place.

ACOP Super High Roller Final Table; Can Dwyer Retain Title?

Steve O'Dywer shadowed by the chip leader
Steve O'Dywer shadowed by the chip leader

One year and two weeks ago, exactly. That was the day that Steve O'Dwyer took down this very event for HK$14,050,000. Today, the American has an amazing chance to do the incredible and retain his title with back-to-back wins.

The Season 8 APPT ACOP Super High Roller final table was star-studded, and this year it may be even more so, making O'Dywer's task that much more difficult. He'll head into play with just over 6 million chips, good for the second spot.

Andy Andrejevic leads the way with 6.255 million, and both he and O'Dwyer will be joined by John Juanda (5.11 million), Anton Astapau (3.95 million), Bryn Kenney (2.39 million), and Erik Seidel (1.8 million).

See, we told you it was going to be tough for him.

The six players above have cashed for a staggering total of $61,793,872. There's plenty more hard cash to be won today, too, and all six players are now in the money after Phanlert Sukonthachartnant bubbled late last evening.

What will they be playing for? Let's see.
