Xia Dong has just been eliminated during this last level of the night.
We didn't catch the entire hand, but we arrived at the aftermath, with Dong looking quite upset that his set of tens had been trumped by a set of aces!
There are now just 33 players remaining on Day 1c of APPT Auckland.
Jesse McKenzie committed his short stack in the middle pre flop and was called by one player.
He had against his opponents and won the hand when the board ran out .
The very next hand the same player limped into the pot from late position and McKenzie raised it up to 2,400 from the hijack. He was called and both players watched the flop come down .
Both players checked as the dealer produced the on the turn. A check saw McKenzie bet out 2,200. He was met with a raise to 5,000 before he committed his remaining 8,400. The bet was instantly called.

For the second hand in a row McKenzie was dealt aces. He had flopped a set against his opponent who had turned a smaller set.
The completed the board and McKenzie was back up to 23,700 in chips.
Jane Peters limped into the pot from under the gun plus one as did Ia Rimamaaki from middle position. Joachim Chia then raised it up to 3,100 from the cut off which was enough to force Peters out. Rimamaaki took one last look down at his cards before moving all in for his last 4,900 in chips. Chia made the call and both players tabled their cards.

Rimamaaki:
Rimamaaki was in trouble until the board ran out to give him trip queens and the winning hand.
Despite losing this hand, Chia is up to six figures and looking strong.
A big hand occurred before the break involving three players.
The hand was recalled to us by Jesse McKenzie. On a board reading , Robert Spano, Darren Lukas and a third player were in for 1,500 pre flop and then committed 4,000 each on the flop. They all added 12,000 on the turn before all the chips went in to the river.
Spano committed enough to commit both, who were both happy to get their stacks in. Spano tabled his for two pair which had the next player beat who showed . Lukas then rolled over his for a full house and took down the pot.
Spano drops down to 105,000 in chips and Lukas shot straight up to 100,000 in chips.
