Timoshenko Finds Home

Timoshenko finds timely set
Timoshenko finds timely set
Yevgeniy Timoshenko has just sat down on his third table for the day and has found a needed double up against Peter Aristidou.

Timoshenko was on the good side of a set-over-set confrontation, with Aristidou holding {10-?}{10-?} to Timoshenko's {A-?}{A-?}. Aristidou is still alive with only 2,500 in chips while Timoshenko's double sits him on around 13,000 and change.

Boxell Busts Opponent

Catching the action on a flop of {5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}, there were a series of reraises with Leo Boxell calling his opponent's all in holding {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}. Boxell was in great shape against {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

The turn and river ran out deuces with the {2-Hearts} and {2-Spades}. Boxell sent his opponent to the rail and moved up to over 24,000 in chips.

Always Out to Get the Champ

Ashifamin Walji limped from the cutoff and so did the small blind. Joe Hachem made it 600 on top out of the big blind. Walji made the call with Hachem stating, "You stick to me like glue," which was a reference to the previous days that these two have played together.

The flop fell down {5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, and Hachem led out for 850 before being raised to 2,000. Hachem quickly mucked and steamed, "They're always out to get me!"

Walji stated that he held {A-?}{9-?}, and with that Hachem announced that he was drawing very lightly holding {A-?}{K-?}. Hachem still remains strong with over 11,000 in chips.

Fenech Hits a Flat

Jeff Fenech has just been crippled after he called the all in reraise from his opponent on the river. French held {2-Spades}{4-Spades} on a board of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

French held the wheel straight, but his opponent tabled {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for the nut straight and the double up.

Plzzz Mate . . .

"Plzzz mate," bellowed Manny Stavropoulos as good friend Joe Hachem sat down next to him.

The term 'plzzz mate' might not be known to many people around the world, but here in Down Under it is a colluquial slang word used and heard by all.

It is extremely hard to define the saying, but in basic terms it is a rebuttal to a normally absurd statement such as, "Looking a little short-stacked there kid."

In Stavropolous' case, there is a high increase in pitch for his 'zzz' response!

Khalil Loves This Game

The 'Peppermint Hippo' himself
The 'Peppermint Hippo' himself
Always a fan of the six-handed variety, Ali Khalil was just involved in a very interesting pot.

Roy Vandersluis limped under the gun and when it folded round to Khalil on the button, he made it 350 to go. A player in the small blind then followed it with a reraise to 850, and once Vandersluis was out of the way, Khalil bumped it to 2,025 total.

The small blind made the call and then check-folded for 1,225 on a flop of {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. As Khalil raked in the pot, which sent him to over 13,000, he kindly flashed his {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for complete air.
