After a slow period of razz, the game switched to stud and a short-stacked Tino Lechich found himself all in by fourth street against Jeff Madsen who made the call in an attempt to finally break this final eight. It wasn't to be, as Lechich doubled up when the board ran out as follows:
Lechich: () ()
Madsen: () ()
Madsen couldn't improve as Lechich made kings and sixes to double up. He's back to 23,000.
In a recent hand of stud hi/lo, Tino Lechich led the betting on fourth and fifth streets before checking sixth and seventh against Joe Hachem. The board ran out:
Lechich: () ()
Hachem: () ()
Hachem takes the hand with a flush as both players ended up going high, as Hachem curses and walks away from the table in disgust at not getting another bet in on the river.
Just before the break Alexander Kostritsyn and Zac Fellows split a pot. Normally not an exciting result but Kostritsyn flipped an impressive quad jacks for the high as Fellows collected the low.
Kostritsyn heads to the break with a commanding chip lead with over 170,000 chips.
The players are back on their saddles with four hands left to run in the round of stud hi/lo. Will we see our first elimination shortly? The pressure is going to be on Michael Binger, Tino Lechich, and Lee Nelson who are all on the short stacks.
Tino Lechich was all in fourth street and Zac Fellows had committed his last chips on fifth street with Chris Ferguson covering both of them. The cards were revealed:
Lechich: ()
Fellows: ()
Ferguson: ()
Ferguson held a straight and a stranglehold on the low, as Fellows was slow to reveal that he'd made a flush. Lechich was in trouble with his pair of kings.
Ferguson and Fellows didn't improve, however Lechich picked up the on sixth to suddenly spring to life with a sweat. As the river was dealt Lechich squeezed his last card looking for a pair to improve to a full house, but it wasn't to be as the left him as our eighth-place finisher with Ferguson and Fellows chopping the pot.
A short-stacked Michael Binger has doubled up through Alexander Kostritsyn. Binger held and Kostritsyn made the call with . Binger was already standing and saying goodbye to everyone at the table in anticipation of his demise but it was premature as the board fell .
Binger survives and doubles to about 16,000 chips.
Jeff Madsen raised preflop from the small blind and then fired bets on every street against Chris Ferguson who called him down from the big blind. The board read and Madsen tabled to take it down. Madsen is now up to 117,000 chips.
Jeff Madsen is our new chip leader after he clashed with Alexander Kostritsyn.
The board read with Kostritsyn firing all the way, only to have Madsen make the call with to catch Kostrtisyn who missed all of his outs with for a busted draw.
Madsen is at 143,000 with Kostritsyn down to 140,000.
The action folded around to Michael Binger who raised all in for his last 5,500. Chris Ferguson was the lone caller on the button.

Ferguson:
The board ran out and despite picking up two pair on the turn, the river counterfeited his hand and Ferguson collects the pot. Binger leaves empty-handed as he is eliminated after a long two days of play in seventh place.
