Kostritsyn Wheels It In

Alexander Kostritsyn
Alexander Kostritsyn
Stud Hi/Lo:

Chris Ferguson led on third, Alexander Kostritsyn led on fourth, before Ferguson once again took the reigns on fifth and sixth streets. On the river Ferguson bet before Kostritsyn raised with Ferguson making the call.

Kostritsyn: ({A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}) {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} ({8-Spades})
Ferguson: ({A-Spades}{4-Clubs}) {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} ({K-Clubs})

After starting with split aces, Ferguson made two pair on the river but Kostritsyn found the wheel straight to scoop the high and low. Ferguson is back down under 85,000 chips with Kostritsyn up to 315,000.

Kostritsyn Finds Jacks To Dent Ferguson

Hold'em:

Back to the Hold'em round and Chris Ferguson raised from the button with Alexander Kostritsyn calling out of the big blind.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Kostritsyn check-raised the bet from Ferguson to 12,000. Ferguson made the call. The turn brought the {K-Spades} and Kostritsyn fired 12,000. Ferguson thought for a moment and called.

The river landed the {7-Diamonds} and Kostritsyn fired again with Ferguson calling. Kostritsyn tabled {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for the best hand to take it down. Ferguson is now back down to 40,000 chips.

I'll See Your Overpair, and Raise You a Miracle River

Hold'em:

Chris Ferguson raised from the button before Alexander Kostritsyn reraised in the big blind. Ferguson made the call.

They saw a flop of {6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Kostritsyn led out with a bet of 6,000. Ferguson popped it up to 12,000 before Kostritsyn made it 18,000 to go. Ferguson called for the last of his chips.

Ferguson: {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Kostritsyn: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

Ferguson held top pair but was trailing as Kostritsyn had found another big overpair. The turn was a brick in the {4-Clubs} but the river was a miraculous {3-Clubs} to give Ferguson another double up in sensational fashion! He's up to 68,000. Still in trouble, but still has a pulse.

Ferguson Scoops Kostritsyn

Omaha Hi/Lo:

Alexander Kostritsyn made it 12,000 on the button before Chris Ferguson reraised to 18,000 with Kostritsyn making the call.

The flop landed {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Ferguson fired 6,000. Kostritsyn called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Ferguson fired again with Kostritsyn calling. The river was checked as the {8-Hearts} landed.

Ferguson tabled {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the best hand to scoop the pot.

Kostritsyn Gets Aggressive In Razz

Razz:

Alexander Kostritsyn appears to have decided to put the foot down. In a recent Razz hand he was showing a {Q-Spades} and re-raised after Chris Ferguson had completed with the {4-Hearts}. Kostritsyn turned to our desk to request that we blogged this action, as it was a somewhat unusual Razz play.

Ferguson called, received {J-Clubs} on fourth street and bet out. Kostritsyn {A-Hearts} then raised with Ferguson making the call.

On fifth street Ferguson caught good with the {2-Hearts} and Kostritsyn finally gave up his power play when the {K-Clubs} hit to give him one too many bricks.

Ferguson In Trouble Once Again

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
Stud Hi/Lo:

Alexander Kostritsyn has just scooped a nice Stud Hi/Lo hand against Chris Ferguson.

Ferguson fired a bet on sixth before both players checked it down on the river

Ferguson had not improved on his pair of kings with ({Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}) {K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} as Kostritsyn showed ({9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}) {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} for two pair to take it down. Ferguson is down to around 30,000 chips.

Eat or Not to Eat?

With Chris Ferguson so short, the players sensibly agreed to postpone the dinner break for a little bit and play it out. Alexander Kostritsyn is currently on the phone trying to reschedule his dinner reservation.

Ferguson Crippled

Hold'em:

This back and forth contest went back in the direction of Kostritsyn after he made an unlikely two pair holding {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} to leave Ferguson heading in the wrong direction once again.

The following hand Ferguson raised the button and Kostritsyn called. The flop landed {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Kostritsyn led at the pot with a bet. Ferguson gave a wry smile and folded to leave himself with only 14,500 chips.
