On the final hand before the break Jim Mastorakos and Edison Nguyen played out a monster pot. Preflop Mastorakos raised from the button and was repopped by Nguyen in the big blind to 15,000. Mastorakos thought about this for a moment, before announcing he was all in, Nguyen made the call for all of his 59,000 stack and both players tabled their cards.

The door card brought much joy for Nguyen with the flop coming . Mastorakos still had gained outs to a flush, but the turn and river were not willing to help out, the board filling out to send Edison Nguyen over 120,000 chips. Mastorakos is down to just 28,000.
We're close to the money now. Each elimination carries lots of weight for the players that are still in and a fair amount of disappointment for the player eliminated. Van Marcus is now among the latter group. He moved all in preflop with and was called by an opponent who tabled . Marcus failed to improve on a board of . He's been bounced from the tournament just one table short of the money.
Eric Assadourian opened with a raise to 3,300 and the action was with the recently relocated [Removed:415]. Assadourian stirred his opponent saying that he can't raise the first hand at his new table, but Doria's reply was "I have to" before adding another 12,000 to the bet.
The table folded around and Assadourian quickly moved all in for another 22,200 and Doria was sick. After the clock ticked down he eventually made the call.

The board ran out and although Doria improved to a straight, Assadourian had made a full house to double through. Assadourian is up to 77,000 with Doria falling to 46,000.
Josh Field opened the betting preflop, but Eric Assadourian was the one who finished it on the button. Field raised to 3,000 from under the gun and was called by Assadourian on the button. Both players checked the flop. On the turn, Field check-called a bet of 4,200 from Assadourian. Assadourian fired again for 6,500 after Field checked the river, but that was one bet too many for Field. He folded, leaving his chip stack intact at 17,000. Assadourian is up to 34,000.
The chips were all in preflop. Billy "the Croc" Argyros showed against his opponent's and dragged the pot after a board of to increase his count to 49,000. That would have been fine, but Argyros then stood up and jokingly sort of shimmied around in a circle. He may be an inductee into the Australian Poker Hall of Fame, but he's definitely no Lord of the Dance.
As you've probably already noted there are still two MacNaughton's left in the field tonight. We at PokerNews being the investigative sleuths we are, have put our moles to good work, to come up with this informative post for you.
They are brother and sister. Obviously from good poker stock the MacNaughton siblings will be looking to both continue to go deep tonight and hopefully be back tommorow for the shoot-out tables. Their plan for familial dominance is on track - John MacNaughton sits at the top of our chip counts on 120,000 at the moment, and Pam MacNaughton has a fairly solid 80,000 to be amongst the bigger stacks.
Van Marcus was in the big blind when a short stack moved all in without looking for 4,000. Marcus squeezed out and decided to make the call. He was up against . The flop was , making a pair of nines for Marcus but giving each man a gutshot to the same straight. The turn and river blanked safely for Marcus, and , letting him climb up to 20,000.
We've reached that magical time of night when things start to slow down. Since forty players are being paid in today's event, only twenty-seven more people will go home empty-handed. It'll probably be a while yet until we reach the magical forty (and then thirty-two after that). Grab a beer.
We've mentioned John MacNaughton a few times today but have been mum about the other MacNaughton in the field -- Pamela. She moved all in for 18,275 after Ron Parsons opened for 5,000 and was called by one player. Parsons made the call, but the other player did not.

The board ran out . MacNaughton made a pair of aces to best Parsons' jacks. The third player claimed to have folded .
Whether that's true or not, MacNaughton is up to 41,000.
