Ben Delaney
Ben Delaney
Ben Delaney has doubled up to nearly 10,000. The chips went all in on a flop of {K-?}{9-?}{8-?}. Delaney had been check-raised, but was happy to commit with {K-?}{Q-?} and his opponent was drawing with {J-?}{10-?}.

The turn and river bricked and Delaney sent one to the exit.

Croc Takes A Bite From Assadourian

We caught the action on the river with the board reading {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Eric Assadourian had bet out 1,600 into Billy "The Croc" Argyros, who was deliberating the decision. With only 20 seconds to act, he had to think quick and decided to call.

Assadourian tabled {5-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a straight draw that missed as Argyros' {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} were good. Assadourian is down to 6,500 with Argyros up to 11,500.

Parvis Falls

"It looks like a Bounty bar is gonna be eaten," said a player at Matthew Parvis' table.

Parvis, the player with the bounty on his head, was all in on a flop of {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} with {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} against one opponent who showed {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. The turn {7-Hearts} improved neither player; the river {A-Diamonds} made the best flush for Parvis' opponent. Parvis shipped the Bounty bar and the lanyard around his neck that identified him as a bounty player, and then exited the tournament area.

Kronwitter Scoops

We've just witnessed a huge three way all-in clash, where Jonas Kronwitter's {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} was up against two opponents who were holding {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} respectively.

The chips were in preflop and the board fell {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Kronwitter scooped the pot and jumped up to 12,000 chips.

Manny Rodrigues Eliminated

A short stacked Manny Rodrigues has been eliminated after he pushed the last of his chips all in with {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and found three callers.

In the end, it would be an opponent holding a flopped straight, with {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} on a board reading {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, who would be the architect of Rodrigues' demise.

Floor to Table 23!

A quirky situation at Table 23 required a quick ruling from the tournament staff. After the deal was completed, two players in early position folded before the under-the-gun player acted. By the time the second player folded, small blind Dennis Huntly noticed that he had only been dealt one card.

Huntly requested a misdeal. Another player at the table protested that there had already been substantial action and that therefore Huntly's "hand" should be mucked.

"But the action was out of turn!" said an incredulous Huntly.

A supervisor was summoned to the table. He listened to the tale of the sticky situation as told by his dealer. After a moment of reflection, he ruled that Huntly should receive the top card off of the deck because the action had been out of turn.

In the end, it didn't matter; when action came around to Huntly he mucked his hand anyway.

Fleeting Fletcher

Patrick Fletcher eliminated
Patrick Fletcher eliminated
Popular Sydney-based player Patrick Fletcher has been eliminated. Fletcher's {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} failed to outdraw his opponent's {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, with all the chips getting into the middle before the flop.

The board ran out {3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} to send Fletcher to the rail.
