Colman Takes a Hit

The action folded around to Julius Colman who raised to 450; he found a caller in late position and they checked a flop of {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Colman then led out for 600 on the turn of the {k-Spades}, the opponent called and they both checked the river {8-Hearts}.

Colman rolled up {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} but his opponent had him beat with {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for two pair. Colman shrunk to 6,950 after that hand.

Sach Makes Good Call

Jim Sachinidis has taken down a big pot prior to the break to send an opponent to the rail. Catching the action on the turn on a board of {q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} the player in the big blind moved all in to send Sachinidis into the tank.

He eventually found a call with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for top pair, top kicker which was good as his opponent revealed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}.

The river bricked the {6-Spades} as Sachinidis stacks up 24,000 chips.

Field Slips

Josh "JJProdigy" Field has taken a couple of recent hits. In the first hand Field made the call when his opponent shoved the river on a board of {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, but mucked when showed {A-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

He followed this with with a call of 1,300 on the river on a board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} but couldn't better his opponent's {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair.

Field is down to 6,700 in chips.

Grunter Takes a Hit

Grant Levy opened with a raise to 650 and found one call in the small blind.

The flop landed {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and the small blind led out for 1,250. Levy made the call and the {8-Hearts} fell on the turn. Both players checked before the {9-Diamonds} hit the river.

The small blind fired out 2,500 and Levy made the call with {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} but his opponent held {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the nut flush to take it down. Levy slips to 22,000.

Portaro Busto

Bruno Portaro just wandered up to the PokerNews crew all smiles, despite just being eliminated from the tournament.

"What happened?" asked yours truly.

"I got 'Steicked'," Portaro joked, much to the amusement of all the bloggers. "That is all!"

As he recalled to us, he got it in with pocket aces against David Steicke's {8-?}{7-?} on a flop of {9-?}{10-?}-(brick).

"What do reckon came on the turn - any guesses?" Portaro asked.

"Jack?" said a crew member. "Got it in one," he replied.

Hachem Makes Big Laydown

The flop read {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} when Tony Hachem led out for 825 and was faced with a raise to 2,600. Hachem re-raised to 4,500 but his opponent moved all in for 6,825 more, sending Hachem deep into the tank.

"Tens? Jacks? Ace-king?" posed Hachem to his opponent without a reaction. "Smile at me..." he pleaded, as he thought long and hard.

"Ok, pay the man!" said Hachem and open mucked pocket queens.

Hachem slips to 4,500.
