Event #5: 8-Game Mixed Event
Day 1 Started
Welcome back to the Crown Poker Room on this glorious day seven of the 2011 Aussie Millions for the commencement of the Event 5: $1,100 8-Game Mixed Event!
Over the past twelve-to-eighteen months, 8-Game Mixed tournaments have become a regular on on the local tournament scene as H.O.R.S.E has slowly been pushed out in preference for this new and more exciting form of mixed game tournament poker.
In a new addition to the Aussie Millions schedule, the 8-Game Mixed Event is replacing both the $1,100 and $10,500 H.O.R.S.E tournaments in an attempt to attract a few new players to one of the toughest poker variants played today.
Australian and international talented mixed game players will be out in force to see if they can prove to be the best with players such as the likes of Gary Benson, Mel Judah, Graeme Putt and Billy Argyros wave the flag for the locals as the likes of Annette Obrestad, David Morton and many others look to send another gold ring back through customs.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will again be on the floor providing the exclusive live coverage as we play down to a final table from 12:30 pm EST, so sit tight and enjoy every bring-in, double-bet and split pair from Event 5!

The cards are now in the air for Event 5!
Unlike usual H.O.R.S.E based tournaments that start eight-handed, today's 8-Game Mixed will begin seven-handed before breaking into six-handed play after registration closes.
With only six players allowed to be dealt in for 2-7 Triple Draw, the Aussie Millions staff have decided to keep the whole tournament six-handed so that every player is involved at all times.
Here who has been spotted so far as registration continues to remain open until the first break.
