8-Game Final Table On The Way!
Welcome back to the Crown Poker Room for the final table of Event 5: $1,100 8-Game Mixed Event!
Sixty-eight players took to the felt yesterday to battle it out in a game format that has stood the test of time as being one of the hardest to master. Long gone is the boring and dull H.O.R.S.E . . . like who seriously only plays five games these days . . . as 8-Game has taken both the online and live felt by storm as its popularity has been on the increase over the past two years.
Although the field size was smaller then what the H.O.R.S.E event drew last year, the calibre of the players that took to the felt definitely matched - and possibly exceeded - who turned out last year.
The international brigade was led by Joseph Serock, Mike Watson, Maria Ho, Jarred Solomon, David Steicke and Harry Demetriou in a field that was dominated by local and regional talent such as the likes of old-schoolers Joe Cabret, Mel Judah, Gary Benson and Graeme Putt, along with youngsters James Obst, Tim Marsters, Mark Furniss, Trung Tran and Rob Campbell.
Unfortunately the aforementioned players all fell to the rail over the course of the day as only seven players managed to snag a spot on the final table.
Seat | Player | Country | Chip Count |
1 | Bruno Portaro | Australia | 104,400 |
2 | Daniel Ospina | Columbia | 186,700 |
3 | Oliver Gill | Australia | 98,600 |
4 | Dane Coltman | Australia | 89,200 |
5 | Casey Kastle | Slovenia | 87,500 |
6 | Paul Ravesi | Australia | 63,900 |
7 | Richard Ashby | England | 59,300 |
An Australian-dominate final table mixed with some Europeans is going to make for some interesting confrontations as only one of the seven will be able to claim the AUD$23,800 first prize and coveted Aussie Millions gold ring.
The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on the felt from 4:00 pm EST to cover all the action, so stay tuned for every split pair, double-bet and bring-in from the Event 5: $1,100 8-Game Mixed final table!
