The Field Thickens

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

A group of tough players filtered in during the break. Now in their seats are Team Full Tilt pro Erik Seidel and Red Pro Melanie Weisner. Sam Trickett, winner of the $100k Challenge, is here as well. And so is online shark James Obst.

If you followed the Million Dollar Cash Game coverage yesterday, you'll recognize the name Richard Yong. He's switched to the tournament grind for today.

Jomeen and Weisner Forced to Fold

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Catching the action with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} and four players contesting the hand, the second one to act fired out 1,225 with both Karim Jomeen and Melanie Weisner making the call from the cutoff and button respectively.

The preflop aggressor passed as the {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn and the flop aggressor continued with a 3,400-chip bet.

Jomeen hesitated the longest before folding as Weisner's cards hit the muck soon after.

Marcus Back Over Starting Stack

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Full Tilt Poker Red Pro Van Marcus and one other player put in 1,200 each on the flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, although we missed how the betting actually went. After the turn added a fourth heart to the board with the {5-Hearts}, Marcus checked and his opponent checked behind.

The river completed the board with the {J-Diamonds} and paired the board. Marcus checked and his opponent paused for a moment and then simply checked the table behind. Marcus tabled the {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for a flush and his opponent showed the {A-Spades}{10-Spades} from her hand. Marcus' hand was best and he won the pot to get back over starting stack to 21,200 in chips.

Tan Loses as Girlfriend Watches

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With the board reading {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}, Full Tilt Poker online qualifier Wee Yee Tan was faced with a bet of 6,200 as his girlfriend looked on from behind him. Just as the floor staff asked his girlfriend to leave the tournament area and head to the rail, Tan made the call. His girlfriend stuck around as she saw that, disobeying orders and watching Tan muck when his opponent tabled the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} for a broadway straight. Tan, the online qualifier, dropped to 12,125 in chips.

Barrett Bumped

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Josh "jbrhythm" Barrett has just been sent to the rail.

After losing half his stack when he called down a player on a {A-}{10-}{10-}{10-}{4-} board with {A-}{K-} only to be shown {K-}{10-}, he returned from break looking to build his stack back up.

Opening to 525, Barrett was met with one caller before a raise to 2,000 followed. Barrett moved all in for roughly 12,000 and the three-bettor made the call.

Barrett: {Q-}{Q-}
Opponent: {A-}{K-}

The {9-}{9-}{3-} flop was safe for Barrett until the {A-} spiked on the turn. There would be no miracle on the river as the 2010 Victorian Poker Championships runner up was bumped to the rail.

Macau in the House

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

We already spotted visiting cash game player Richard Yong. He was joined in the Million Dollar Cash Game yesterday by peers Wang Qiang and Paul Phua. They have also made their way to the tournament room and are now seated next to each other.

Evdakov Three Barrels a Win

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

A player in early position checked an {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop to Nikolay Evdakov. The quiet Russian bet 1,700 and got a call. His opponent again checked after the {2-Clubs} turn. Evdakov tossed out a yellow T5,000 chip, and the other player followed suit. The {7-Clubs} rolled off on the river, and the player checked a third street. This time Evadakov bet 10,000. His opponent sat motionless for two minutes before giving up his hand.

Evdakov is just a little over starting stack with around 23,000.

New Life for Beluli

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ilir Beluli was all in prelop for 5,475 with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. He was up against an opponent he dominated with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Beluli doubled up.

After that hand, Beluli doubled again through the same player and came running over to tell us he's now up to 20,000 again.
