Ivey Vanquishes Vinson, Crushes Chan

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

John Vinson and Terrence Chan have just been eliminated in quick succession by Phil Ivey, who is now on a mountain of chips and is looking dangerous ... or furious ... or happy ... or something.

Ivey raised to 1,500 from under the gun and Vinson reraised to 4,225 from UTG +1. The action folded back to Ivey who quickly fired out a four-bet, Vinson shoved for about 15,000 and Ivey snap-called, tabling {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} against Vinson's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

The board of {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{J-Spades} improved neither hand and Vinson was sent packing. He was soon followed by Chan, who open-shoved for his last 10,000 with {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} preflop, only to be insta-called by Ivey who revealed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}.

No kickass martial arts moves could dodge these bullets as the board was spread {5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, sending Chan to the rail. And, just as this post was about to go up, another opponent moved the last of his money in preflop with pocket kings, but Ivey woke up with pocket aces!

Ivey is now edging 100,000 in chips - and that is more awesome than any double rainbow.
