Tan Misses Flush Draw

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded around to Jarrod Glennon and he opened for 40,000 from the button. Jay Tan responded by three-betting to 90,000 when action reached her in the big blind, Glennon called, and it was heads-up action to the {9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop. Tan led out for 102,000, Glennon called, and the dealer burned and turned the {6-Spades}.

Again Tan bet, this time 150,000, and again Glennon called. When the {8-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Tan fired out a healthy 215,000, but she couldn't shake Glennon. Tan showed {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a missed club draw, and Glennon took down the pot with {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

Baldi Binks

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Damian Baldi
Damian Baldi

Patrik Antonius opened to 40,000 on the button, Damian Baldi three-bet to 120,000 from the big blind, and Antonius moved all in for effectively 439,000.

Baldi tanked for the better part of 90 seconds then called, putting himself at risk.

Antonius: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Baldi: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Antonius was slightly ahead, but the {j-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop gave Baldi a leading pair of jacks. Antonius could still make the best hand with any queen or ace, and the {8-Hearts} on the turn gave him four more outs to make a straight.

The {2-Clubs} bricked on the river however, and Baldi shipped a very fortunate double up. He now has 885,000 chips, while Antonius is still holding strong with 2.6 million.

Laying Down the Laidlaw

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

As previously mentioned, Damian Baldi has by far the most boisterous rail, and apparently they get excited even when their man is behind.

That was the case when Daniel Laidlaw got all in preflop for 246,000 holding {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} and was up against the {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Baldi. The latter's rail got loud, especially after the {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop delivered their man a ten. Shouts for another ten permeated the room, but they fell on deaf ears as the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn followed by the {7-Diamonds} on the river.

Ray Ellis Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$70,000)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Ray Ellis - 13th Place
Ray Ellis - 13th Place

Ray Ellis started Day 4 of the Aussie Millions Main Event as the chip leader, and nine and a half hours later, he's been eliminated.

He and Sam Cohen were heads up on a board of {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Cohen checked, Ellis fired 58,000, and Cohen called. The river was the {9-Diamonds}, Cohen led out for 105,000, and Ellis called. Cohen tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} for the nut-straight, and Ellis mucked.

The very next hand, Ellis open-shoved for around 360,000 in the cutoff seat, and Jay Tan re-shoved from the button. The blinds released, and the hands were tabled:

Ellis: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Tan: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Spades}, and Ellis was eliminated in 13th place.

We will now combine to the final two tables.

Glennon vs. Antonius

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jarrod Glennon opened for a standard raise under the gun and Patrik Antonius called from the small blind. The Finn proceeded to check-call bets of 39,000 and 77,000 on the {2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Spades} flop and {6-Spades} turn respectively, and then both players checked the {3-Hearts} river. Glennon showed the {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fours, but it was no good as Antonius had made a pair of aces with the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Daniel Laidlaw Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$95,000)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Laidlaw - 12th Place
Daniel Laidlaw - 12th Place

Daniel Laidlaw opened to 40,000 on the button, Dan Shak three-bet to 145,000 from the big blind, and Laidlaw four-bet shoved for around 600,000. Shak snap-called.

Laidlaw: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Shak: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Laidlaw had Shak dominated, and his lead increased when the flop fell {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Now, one of Shak's outs (the {7-Hearts}), was dead.

The turn was a red seven, and the {7-Diamonds} gave Shak the lead. The rail exploded into a chorus of groans, and Shak started to walk away from the table with a look of shock on his face.

The {3-Spades} bricked on the river, and Laidlaw was eliminated in 12th place. Before he could exit, Shak made sure to go and shake his hand. Laidlaw took it and thanked Shak with a smile on his face.

Shak now sits with around 3.45 million chips, just a few chips behind our leader Joseph Cabret.

Chan Doubles Through Cabret

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Joseph Cabret on the button and he put in a standard raise. The small blind folded, and then Ping Chan moved all in from the big for 216,000. Cabret called and the cards were turned up.

Cabret: {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Chan: {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The {q-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop gave both players a pair, but Chan's aces had him out in front. Neither the {6-Clubs} turn nor {K-Hearts} river helped Cabret, and Chan doubled through.

Chan Continues to Climb

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Ping Chan just doubled and already he's putting those chips to use.

In a recent hand between him and Sam Cohen, both players took a flop of {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Chan not only check-called a bet of 25,000 there, he check-called a bet of 50,000 on the {5-Spades} turn. When the {5-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Chan took the initiative and led out for 76,000, which prompted a snap-call from Cohen. Chan rolled over {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a full house, and it was good as Cohen simply mucked.

Damian Baldi Eliminated in 11th Place (AU$95,000)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Damian Baldi - 11th Place
Damian Baldi - 11th Place

We didn't catch the action until the flop when Damian Baldi got his remaining stack of approximately 400,000 all in on a flop of {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and was at risk against Dan Shak.

Baldi: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Shak: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Baldi got it in good with an overpair and the rail, which was pro-Baldi, went nuts. With that said, Shak had an up-and-down straight draw, which meant he could still win with either a seven, three or eight. The rail began to cheer when the dealer burned and turned the {8-Clubs}, but they soon realized Shak had hit the straight to leave Baldi drawing dead.

The rail's enthusiasm quickly disappeared when they realized the man from Melbourne had been eliminated in 11th place. The {K-Hearts} was run out on the river for good measure, and Sam Cohen was brought over to fill Baldi's seat.
