All In and a Call

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

"All in and a call Table 31," we heard a dealer yell. We made our way over to discover that Denny Lewis had gotten his last 120,000 or so all in on the turn with a board reading {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Lewis held the {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair, and it was ahead of Andrew Phaedonos' {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Phaedonos was looking to catch a jack, ten, or six on the river to eliminate his opponent, but it wasn't in the cards as the {Q-Diamonds} blanked.

Crivell Staying Active

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Patrick Crivell
Patrick Crivell

Patrick Crivell began the day with a little over a million in chips, but has stayed very active in the first part of the day to move his stack over 1.5 million. His early building here on Day 4 included busting Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu.

On a recent hand, Australia's Lior Segre raised from the button to 26,000. Crivell three-bet from the small blind to 49,000, and Segre made the call to see the flop come down {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Crivell bet 42,000, and Segre folded to leave himself with 182,000 in chips.

Two hands later, Crivell was involved again. This time, he opened the action with a raise and made it 24,000 to go. In the big blind, Eoghan O'Dea fought back with a reraise to 62,000. Crivell quickly folded, and O'Dea won the pot to get back over 500,000.

Two Minutes for Slashing

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

With the elimination of Rahul Rastogi, Table 25 broke. In search of his new seat, Khylon Hanegraaf walked over to Table 31, and placed his racks onto the felt. He was immediately dealt in, Denny Lewis moved all in from early position, and Hanegraaf realized that he was at the wrong table.

His hand was declared dead, Lewis the rest of the players folded, and Hanegraaf was given a two-minute penalty. The Aussie has less than a third of the average stack, so missing the hands may cost him dearly.

Team PokerStars Pro At Risk

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier got his stack of 276,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} and was looking to improve against the {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} of Ami Barer. The {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop was no help to Mercier, but the {q-Spades} turn was. It was an exciting cards, but you wouldn't know it as both professionals sat there quietly as the dealer burned and completed the board with the {3-Hearts}. Ship the double to Mercier.

Rastogi Shoves Light; Busts

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Rahul Rastogi opened to 28,000 on the button, Tam Truong three-bet to 75,000 out of the small blind, and Rastogi responded by four-bet shoving for 480,000. Truong called.

Truong: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Rastogi: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} flop gave both players a pair, and the {4-Spades} on the turn gave them both a spade draw. The two would chop with a spade on the river, and Rastogi could double up with a ten or a nine on the river.

It was not to be as the {q-Hearts} completed the board, and Rastogi was eliminated. Truong is up to 1.9 million chips.

Brkic Busts

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Uros Brkic opened to 30,000 from the cutoff seat, Ying Kit Chan three-bet all in for 116,000 out of the small blind, and Brkic called.

Brkic: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Chan: {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

A majority of the time this ends in a chop, but the {4-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop gave Chan tens and fours. Brkic needed running pair cards higher than a four, running deuces, or running tens, and the {10-Hearts} on the turn kept his quad-chop draw alive.

The {5-Spades} bricked off on the river, however, and Chan doubled.

The very next hand, Brkic moved all in for 155,000 and Chan called on the button.

Brkic: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Chan: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Chan extended his lead when the flop fell {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, but Brkic received some help when the turn was the {k-Clubs}. The {9-Hearts} bricked off on the river though, and Brkic was eliminated.

Mizzi Sends Bussmann Out the Door in 31st Place

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Florian Bussmann
Florian Bussmann

We picked up the action over at Table 31 on a flop reading {10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. There was about 70,000 in the pot when Salvatore Fazzino and Florian Bussmann checked from the small and big blind respectively. Sorel Mizzi took the opportunity to bet 34,000, Fazzino called, and then Bussmann check-raised all in for nearly 280,000 more. Mizzi made the call and Fazzino got out of the way.

Bussmann: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Mizzi: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

"Do you want to run it twice?" Mizzi joked to Bussmann, who by this time was up out of his chair. With the railbirds surrounding the table the dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds} to give Mizzi the lead with a straight. Bussmann's face seemed resigned, but one of his supporters on the rail kept hope alive by calling for either a ten or jack on the river to give their man a full house.

The dealer burned one last time and put out the {7-Clubs}. Bussmann missed and was sent to the rail in 31st place.

Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu Falls

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Raymond Wu
Raymond Wu

Team PokerStars Pro Raymond Wu raised from under the gun to 25,000, and then former World Series of Poker Main Event November Niner Eoghan O'Dea reraised to 56,000 from the cutoff seat. Action folded back to Wu, and he gave it up to leave himself with around 350,000 in chips.

On the next hand, action folded to Patrick Crivell in the small blind, and he raised to 25,000. Wu was in the big blind, and reraised to make it 60,000 to go. Crivell then put in another raise to 109,000. Wu moved all in for right around 350,000, and Crivell quickly called.

Crivell tabled the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, but his hand was dominated by the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for the at-risk Wu. On the flop, though, Crivell took the lead with a pair of jacks when the dealer spread the {J-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Wu didn't flinch. Instead, he just watched as the dealer added the {3-Clubs} to the board on the turn, leaving Wu needing a queen and only a queen on the river. When the {4-Diamonds} completed the board, it also completed Wu's run in the 2014 Aussie Millions Main Event. He finished with a payday of AU$30,000, while Crivell climbed to 1.6 million in chips.

Jae Kyung Sim is not a crook, but he's out

Patrick Crivell opened to 24,000 in the cutoff, Jae Kyung "Simba" Sim moved all in for 80,000 on the button, and Eoghan O'Dea re-shoved out of the small blind. Crivell folded.

Sim: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
O'Dea: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

O'Dea's dominant hand held up as the board came {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and Sim hit the rail.
