The number three on the all-time money list with $26.2 million in career earnings, Erik Seidel, just took his seat in the tournament. This means eight players are currently playing, and Seidel took Fedor Holz's empty seat.

If one more player enters the tournament, another chair will be pulled up, but if a tenth player registers the event will be spread out on two tables of five.

Kurganov Takes from Ivey

Level 2 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 3,500 from early position and Erik Seidel called from the button. Phil Ivey then three-bet to 15,000 from the big blind, Kurganov four-bet to 37,500, and Seidel folded. Ivey opted to call and then checked the {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Kurganov continued for 27,500 and Ivey wasted little time in folding his hand.

Mercier vs. Kurganov

Level 2 : 700/1,400, 200 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 3,300 under the gun and Jason Mercier called from the button. Both blinds folded and it was heads-up action to the {5-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop, which they both checked. Action repeated itself on the {J-Clubs} turn and then Kurganov bet 5,400 on the {J-Hearts} river. Mercier folded.
