Josh "JJProdigy" Field Eliminated in 5th Place (AU$18,240)

With the board showing {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} Josh "JJProdigy" Field and Michael Pesek committed their chips into the middle.

Field: {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Pesek: {5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The turn and river arrive {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and after some confusion the dealer pushes the pot to Pesek as he takes the high with his Q-9 and low with his 5-3.

On his first ever live final table, Josh "JJProdigy" Field finishes in 5th place and collects AU$18,240.

Dealer Error Corrected

Earlier, we reported on a questionable hand during the last Omaha Hi-Lo level that we presumed was incorrectly awarded to David Bach. The Crown surveillance team has since looked into the matter and determined that we were, in fact, correct - the low pot should've been awarded to Dag Martin Mikkelsen.

Crown's tournament staff handled the situation very professionally, pulling the four remaining players aside to explain the situation. The entire pot totaled 63,000 in chips, so in order to fully correct the error, David Bach was asked to give 31,000 worth of chips back to Mikkelsen.

The corrected chip counts are reflected below:

Dag Martin Mikkelsen: 147,000
David Bach: 139,000
Michael Pesek: 160,000
Roy Winston: 116,000

Roy Winston Eliminated in 4th Place (AU$22,800)

David Bach opened the action with a raise from the button to 16,000. Roy Winston announces a pot-sized raise from the big blind to 68,000 total. Bach thinks for a moment before making the 52,000 chip call.

The flop comes {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and with around 140,000 already in the pot, Winston pushes his last 44,000 into the middle and Bach makes a pot-committed call.

Bach flips over {A-Spades}{4-Spades} and amazingly holds the lead with his ace-high against Winston's {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The turn is the {Q-Diamonds} the river the {4-Hearts} and Bach takes down a monsterous pot with just a pair of fours!

Roy Winston is eliminated in 4th place, collecting AU$22,800 for his efforts.

Dag Martin Mikkelsen Eliminated in 3rd Place ($27,360 AUD).

Dag Martin Mikkelsen opened the pot with an 18,000 raise from the button. David Bach folded his small blind and Michael Pesek then potted the action from the big, kicking it up to 56,000. Mikkelsen quickly put in a third bet, moving all in and Pesek made the call:

Pesek: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Mikkelsen: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

The {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} flop made things more interesting, as Pesek had flopped an open-ended royal straight flush draw. Mikkelsen maintained his lead when the {8-Hearts} fell on the turn, but the {6-Diamonds} on the river gave Pesek the pot-clinching flush.

Mikkelsen will take home $27,360 AUD for his third place finish.

The Warm-Up

Not much has changed since heads-up play began. At last count, Michael Pesek had 288,000 in chips while David Bach had 282,000.

Both players seem to be getting a feel for each other's heads-up games and there has been very little significant action thus far.

Slow Going

Play has been very slow in this heads-up contest with both players being very deliberate with their decision making and selective with their spots. At the moment they appear content to play small pots rather than risk a big all in confrontation.
