Clements vs. Stoevski

On a flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Dusan Stoevski bet 1,000, Scott Clements raised to 3,700 and Stoevski called. The turn was the {3-Diamonds}. Stoevski fired another 7,000 and Clements moved all in for 30,150. Stoevski tanked for over five minutes before Clements called the clock on him. Stoevski eventually folded.

"C'mon, Scott show us quads! I know you have quads!" asked his tablemate Dan Shak.

"He can't have quads" was Stoevski's reply, indicating that he had folded a three.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, Grant Levy moved all in and Paul Lui made the call. Levy turned up {8-Spades}{10-Hearts} for top pair, while Lui tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for two overs and a flush draw. The turn was the {7-Spades}, but the river was the {5-Clubs}, making Lui's flush and eliminating Levy.

"Kill John?"

"Kill John?"
"Kill John?"
John Juanda has recently taken a couple of hits in pre-flop action. After he three-bet pre-flop, David Singer made a large four-bet and Juanda had to fold his hand.

A few hands later Dag Martin Mikkelsen made a similar play. John Juanda three-bet pre-flop to 2,500 and Mikkelsen simply shoved enough to put Juanda to a decision for all of his chips. This strategy of shoving pre-flop against professionals is discussed in Lee Nelson's much hyped book "Kill Phil" (and also his new book "Kill Everyone"). Perhaps on this table "Kill John" would be more appropriate as Juanda was forced to fold once again.

Sarne Lightman Eliminated

Just before the dinner break, PokerStars' Sarne Lightman was eliminated from the main event courtesy of a bad beat put on by Shane Moran.

Lightman got it all in pre-flop holding pocket queens, in great shape against Moran's {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but the board filled out {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} giving Moran a higher pair, eliminating Lightman from the main event.

Jedlicka Doubles Through Moran; Assumes Chip Lead

Niki Jedlicka has just doubled through former tournament chip leader Shane Moran to rake in a massive pot and claim the tournament chip.

Jedlicka opened with a 700 pre-flop raise and Moran re-popped it to 2,500; Niki made the call. The flop came A-K-x with two spades and Moran led out with a 2,500 bet. Once again, Niki made the call.

A third spade fell on the turn and this time it was Jedlicka who led the betting, firing a 6,500 bullet. Moran raised it up to 13,000 and when the action returned to Niki, he moved all in. Moran made the call and turned over the {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}; Jedlicka tabled {4-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flush. The river blanked and Niki raked in the 85,000 pot.

Tony G's Rockets Cracked; Sarah Bilney Eliminated!

Bilney Busto

Sarah Bilney shoved the last of her stack into the middle from early position. Nick MacMillan made the call before Tony G re-raised from the button and McMillan called again.

A monster pot was brewing as the flop came {K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. MacMillan checked the action to Tony G who bet enough to put MacMillan all in. MacMillan insta-called and the three players revealed their cards.

Bilney: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Tony G: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
MacMillan: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Tony G is disgusted at the two-outer that his opponent has spiked on the flop as he slams his cards onto the felt.

The turn and river come {K-Spades}{3-Hearts} and in an amazing hand MacMillan collects a pot worth over 70,000 chips. Sarah Bilney is eliminated and the steam is coming out of the ears of Tony G as he plummets to around 23,000.
