Sayed Saved By Phone Call

Sam Sayed thought he had been busted out of today's event and left the poker room to lick his wounds. However apparently after a big all in clash, he still had around 1,000 chips left. We believe he received a phone call from a friend to let him know he was still alive, and he returned to find his stack was blinded down to around 500 chips.

Remarkably Sayed then pushed hard with his short stack, managing to double up several times and now has around 4,500 in chips!

Specht's Set Success

With the flop of {2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} Roland Specht and Michael Pesek pushed their chips into the middle.

Specht: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Pesek: {4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

Specht held the lead with his set of queens, while Pesek had top pair and a straight draw.

The turn and river came {2-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and Specht's set holds on to take down a pot worth 11,000 chips!

Sach Chops with "The Hoon"

On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} the money went into the middle with both Mick "The Hoon" and Jim Sachinidis holding the nut straight.

"The Hoon" had {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} however Sachinidis was freerolling with {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{J-Clubs} for the nut straight plus the nut flush draw. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and river {3-Spades} and the large pot was chopped up!

Mark Kassis and George Yssif clashed on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

Yssif held {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flopped set but Kassis had {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for top set! The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and river {K-Diamonds} and Mark Kassis had doubled up!

Sexton's Nuts No Good

Mike Sexton held the nuts when the money went in on a flop of {10-Spades}{J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

Sexton held {K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for the nut straight against George Yssif who held {10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} for a set.

The turn and river ran out {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Yssif made a running full house as Sexton reached for rebuy chips.

Rebuy Period Information

Players may rebuy at any point during the first two levels of today's play when their chip stack is 3,000 chips or less. Each rebuy costs $3,000 and players will receive an extra 3,000 in chips. The first two levels run for 45 minutes each, at which point the rebuy period ends and players will have the option of a single add-on regardless of their chip count. Following the break blind levels will return to 60 minute levels for the remainder of the event.

This is a one-day event, so we'll be playing right through today until we crown a winner!

Scott Clements Makes Early Rebuy

Scott Clements and Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul clashed on a flop of {3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Clements held {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} for trips but trailed the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} of Saul for a flopped full house.

The turn and river landed {10-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Saul takes a nice early pot.

This table is also another tough one with Saul and Clements joined by Lee Watkinson and Jeff Lisandro.
