Peters Finds the Exit

On a heads-up completed board of 8♥5♣J♣9♦Q♦, there was around 30,000 in the middle when David Peters was faced with an all-in bet from his opponent, Fabrice Bigot.

After a good minute in thought, Peters made the call to put himself at risk, but was then shown K♣10♣ for the stone nuts by Bigot. Peters flashed jack-nine for two pair before it was sent into the muck and he was eliminated.

Givens Turns Broadway

Will Givens opened to 2,000 from middle position and was called by Eric Afriat from the small blind. The big blind also defended to see the Q♥J♦9♣ flop.

Givens continued for 2,500 which folded out Afriat. The big blind then jammed for 19,000 and Givens called as the superior stack.

The big blind was a big favorite to double but the K♠ turn gave Givens Broadway for the lead. the 5♥ completed the board and Givens raked in another pot.

Ripnick Sees Off Carey

The middle position player opened to 1,800, and Jake Ripnick called from the button. Irene Carey then jammed for 15,900 from the big blind.

Sitbon Called on Clock Again; Frenchman Unhappy

Landon Tice opened from middle position, and the player on his direct left put in the three-bet. Julien Sitbon cold called from the big blind, and Tice also called.

Action checked through on the A♦9♠4♣ flop to the 2♦ turn. Sitbon led out for 3,300, and only Tice called.

On the 8♦ river, Sitbon continued for another 7,700, and after some decision time, Tice jammed for 30,000.

Sitbon, with around 18,000 behind, went into the tank, and after around a minute a tablemate called the clock, which seemed a bit early to do so. The tournament director arrived and gave Sitbon a few extra seconds before beginning the countdown.

For the second time today, Sitbon could not make a decision by the end of the countdown and his hand was declared dead.

After the hand, Sitbon voiced his displeasure as he felt he should've been given some more time being that he was calling for his tournament life.

Colpoys Sits Down and Scoops Four-way All-in

Dan Colpoys had just sat down with a fresh 40,000 starting stack when he became involved in a massive four-way all-in preflop.

After the pots, were calculated, the hands were tabled as follows:

Opponent 3: K♠K♥
Dan Colpoys: A♣A♦

The flop of A♠J♠9♠ gave Colpoys top set of aces but of course, it had to be a sweat as Opponent 1 was open-ended and the other two players both had spade draws.

Lucky for Colpoys, the board run out clean with the 2♥5♣ and he scooped the whole thing to rocket him up to 135,000.
