The players reached the money bubble during the sixth level of play and unfortunately, Shiva Dudani was the one to leave empty-handed when he got it in with ace-king against Jesse Lonis’ ace-queen and a queen came on the flop. Michael Lavenburg and Adam Miller were the actual players eliminated on the stone bubble but they ended up taking some money home after chopping the min-cash.

Notable names who failed to make the money included 2022 WSOP Main Event Champion Espen Jorstad, Alexandre Vuilleumier, Kristen Foxen, Bin Weng, and defending champion Joey Weissman.

BetMGM qualifier and former MLB player Jason Kipnis managed to make the money and was vying for a deep run until he also got it in with ace-king versus the ace-queen of Gunness when an ace came on the flop and a queen came on the river to send him packing in 107th place for $6,534.

BetMGM Ambassador Darren Elias also had his run end in 91st place ($7,256) at the hands of Gunness when his ace-three could not get there against his foe’s pocket kings.

Famous faces who busted in the money were WSOP bracelet winners Rami Boukai, Ethan Yau, Michael Gathy, Dylan Linde, and Chance Kornuth.

Some of the players returning for Day 3 tomorrow include 2014 WSOP Main Event Champ Martin Jacobson, Jeremy Ausmus, Stephen Song, Brian Hastings, and Nadya Magnus. Also joining them is BetMGM qualifier Bret Bassock who managed to bag a healthy stack.

Those players will return to the PokerGO Studio tomorrow, June 12 at 1 p.m. to play Day 3. The plan for tomorrow is players will then play down to the final seven at which point play will stop for them to return on Tuesday, June 13th to be live-streamed.

As always, keep up to date with all action from this Championship event on PokerNews.

Ibanez Rivers a Full House to Bust Rosen

Level 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Johann Ibanez
Johann Ibanez

Johann Ibanez opened to 27,000 from under the gun. Steven Rosen called from the small blind and the big blind also tagged along.

Ibanez continued for 30,000 on the A106 flop. Steven Rosen jammed for 185,000, which folded out the big blind. Ibanez made the call after about 20 seconds.

Steven Rosen: A7
Johann Ibanez: A3

Rosen was ahead with his seven kicker playing and it stayed that way on the A turn. The 3 river spiked the felt to improve Ibanez to a full house.

The pair, as expected, had different reactions to the river card. Rosen slammed his fists onto the rail of the poker table while Ibanez cheered when the pot was pushed his way.

Jason Kipnis
Jason Kipnis

PokerNews missed the hand, but Jason Kipnis informed the team of his bust out. He relayed that he got it all in preflop against Paul Gunness who covered.

Jason Kipnis: AxKx
Paul Gunness: AxQx

The flop came out Ax10x10x to give both players an ace with Kipnis in the lead, and the turn 3x changed nothing, but the Qx on the river gave Gunness superior two-pair to eliminate the former MLB player.

Ethan Yau opened to 16,000 from under the gun before Petar Kalev made it 45,000 from the hijack. Yau responded with a four-bet jam to 131,000 and Kalev called to put the vlogger at risk.

Ethan Yau: AK
Petar Kalev: 99

Yau seemed unfazed about the situation and continued to focus on his iPad where he was taking part in some WSOP online events.

The AJ5 flop gave him a reason to look up as he paired up to take the lead and held out to double after the 2 turn and 5 river.

Miller and Lavenburg Flushed Out on Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Adam Miller
Adam Miller

Raul Martinez and short-stacked Adam Miller got all the chips in preflop on the stone bubble and after the other tables completed their action the cards were tabled.

Adam Miller: KQ
Raul Martinez: 93

The flop came out 9K10 for a huge sweat, as Miller had the superior pair but Martinez also had a flush draw to go with his three. The turn 10 took away some of Martinez's outs but the 6 on the river was a gut punch to Miller as it gave his opponent the flush to eliminate him.

Across the room, another all-in-hand was unfolding:

Johann Ibanez opened to 16,000 from under the gun before Michael Lavenburg three-bet to 44,000. Ibanez called.

On the Q64 flop, Ibanez checked and Lavenburg continued for 25,000, leaving around 250,000 behind. Ibanez moved all in as the big stack and was quickly called.

Michael Lavenburg: AxQx
Johann Ibanez: 107

Coincidentally, Ibanez took a chunk off Lavenburg earlier on with the same hand and had the chance to do the same again. The J turn was a brick but Ibanez made his flush on the A river to oust Lavenburg.

Since both of these players were eliminated at the same time, they will be splitting the 128th Place min-cash for $2,396 each.

Adrian Buckley
Adrian Buckley

On a heads-up turn of AJ48, Adrian Buckley bet 55,000 after a check from his opponent, Kyriakos Papadopoulos.

Papadopoulos thought for a second, then made the call to see the 9 appear on the river and he checked once more.

Buckley then announced he was all in, covering Papadopoulos who went into the tank. After using one of his time banks, Papadopoulos made the call and tabled AQ for top pair, top kicker. He was then shown JJ by Buckley for a flopped set of jacks to take the pot and Papadopoulos was eliminated just a few spots away from the money.
