Richardson Bursts the Bubble

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Bubble Hand
Bubble Hand

The player in the cutoff was sitting in the tank, having a mere 4,000 left while the other tables had completed their action. After a while, he decided to put his last 4 chips in for the all-in. The player on the button called the 6,000 minimum while Steven Richardson decided to raise to 26,000 in the big blind which the button called for them to play for the side pot.

The flop came down {6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Richardson continued with a bet of 24,000 and that was more than enough for his opponent on the button to fold. Richardson scooped the side pot and the cards could go on their backs.

Richardson tabled {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for everyone to gasp including the other players in the field as they had rushed the table to see what was happening. His opponent looked gutted as he turned over the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

The turn brought them the {j-Diamonds} which didn't change anything and neither did the {3-Spades} on the river as Richardson burst the bubble while his opponent gt up from the chair and stared at the table for a while longer before making his way out of the tournament area.
