Alessandro Longobardi Eliminated in 23rd Place (€24,700)

Alessandro Longobardi - 23rd
Alessandro Longobardi - 23rd
Alessandro Longobardi's demise involved two hands. Calling a short-stack push from a wounded Sebastian Ruthenberg, Longobardi lost a 140,000 pot with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} versus {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} on an eventful {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board.

Moments later, Longobardi himself was all in, this time for around 60,000, with {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} versus Jonas Molander's {J-Spades}{9-Spades}. Sadly for the Italian, it was outdraw number two as the board came a teasing {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to send him hurtling to the rail.

Jose Vazquez Ortega Eliminated in 24th Place (€ 24,700)

Jose Vazquez Ortega - 24th Place
Action folded around to Jose Vazquez Ortega and he opened for a standard raise. Mikael Lundell, next to act, reraised an additional 55,000 and Lundell made the call.

The exact action is unclear but when the flop came {10-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {2-Hearts}, both players were quick to get all their chips into the center. It was Ortega's tournament life on the line and he was in bad shape holding {K-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} up against the {9-Spades} {9-Hearts} of Lundell. The turn and river blanked coming the {A-Clubs} and {4-Clubs} respectively.

Ortega was eliminated in 26th place and takes home € 19,800 to show for it. Lundell, meanwhile, is on the rise with just over 450,000 chips.

Molander Cracks Aces

Jonas Molander pushed preflop with {A-?}{8-?} but was snap-called by Sebastian Ruthenberg who revealed {A-?}{A-?}.

It looked deeply ominous for Molander on the {10-?}{9-?}{4-?} flop, but a {J-?} turn followed by a gut-wrenching {Q-?} river dealt the German bracelet winner the cruelest of blows.

Meanwhile, we have stopped for a short break, during which Ruthenberg can be found vomiting in the lavatory.
