Joe Pelton Eliminated in 27th Place (€ 19,800)

Joe Pelton - 27th Place
Joe Pelton - 27th Place
Joe Pelton, who started the day with a reasonable chip stack, has been eliminated. Pelton just couldn't seem to get anything going and slowly blinded off until he was forced to make a stand with {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} but ran into the {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades} of Daniele Mazzia. Pelton was all in for just under 100,000 and got no help from the {4-Spades} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {6-Hearts} board. In addition to adding another cash to his already impressive tournament resume, Pelton will leave with € 19,800 for his efforts.

Alessandro Longobardi Cracks Kings to Stay Alive

Jonas Molander opened for a raise to 20,000 from early position and when action got to Alessandro Longobardi, he moved all in for 206,500. When it got back to Molander, he snap-called and the players showed:

Molander: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Longobardi: {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}

The flop came {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades} {6-Hearts} giving Longobardi the lead. The {5-Hearts} on the turn gave Molander a flush draw, but the river {5-Clubs} gave Longobardi the winning full house. He doubled up to 433,000 leaving Molander shaking his head.

Cornelis Alblas Can Fold Jacks

Davidi Kitai made it 18,000 to go from UTG, Cornelis Alblas flat-called from UTG+1, and after the action was folded around to Martin Nielsen in the big blind, he moved all in for about 120,000. Kitai gave up his hand, leaving Alblas to agonize over his decision, looking up to the heavens, perhaps in search of some otherworldly guidance.

Ultimately he folded his {J-?} {J-?} face-up. Nielsen showed {K-?} {Q-?} and raked in the pot, leaving Alblas to wonder what might have been.

Ronny Johansen Doubles

Ronny Johansen staked his tournament life on {A-Spades} {7-Spades}, going up against his opponent's {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. The {Q-Hearts} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades} board made him an ace-high flush on the river, giving the short stack a much needed chip infusion. He's now up to just over 100,000.

Mark Randal Flowers Doubles Through Sebastian Ruthenberg

Mark Randal "RandALLin" Flowers
Mark Randal "RandALLin" Flowers
Mark Randal Flowers was down to only 62,000 after doubling up Beniamino Speroni. Flowers had set the short-stacked Speroni all in from the small blind with only {5-?} {9-?}, but Speroni made the call with {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts}, and rivered an ace-high flush on the {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} board.

On the next hand, Flowers reraised all in after Sebastian Ruthenberg opened for 16,000. Ruthenberg made the call, his {K-?} {10-?} up against Flowers' {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. This time, Flowers was the victor, his ladies holding up on the {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {5-Spades} board and giving him a much-needed double-up to around the 130,000 mark.
