Tann Tanned

The next Mrs Snoopy?
The next Mrs Snoopy?
Much to the dismay of the local contingent on the rail, Willie Tann has been eliminated from today's event.

Meanwhile, fellow Londoner and Vic stalwart Vicky Coren is running well with 80,000. "You picked the wrong year to win, Vicky," I joked, with a glint in and my eye and a flirtatious spring in my step. "Do you mean I'm not going to win this one?" she replied, as I felt my chances of striking gold sink without a trace. "How do you know I didn't pick the wrong year to win it twice?"

Alan Smurfit Doubles Up

I caught the action on the flop. The board read {10-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} and Alan Smurfit was all in for 28,000. Yaron Malki went into the tank for almost seven minutes before another player at the table called the clock. Malki called and showed {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} for an open-ended straight draw. Smurfit held {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} for just Ace high. He was ahead though and won the pot when the turn and river did not help Malki. Smurfit doubled up and increased his stack to almost 60,000.

Tureniec Takes One Out

Michael Tureniec has just eliminated an opponent in brutal circumstances. I didn't catch the preflop action, but it appeared as though the button had raised, Tereniec reraised from the small blind and the big blind pushed. Tureniec made a brave call with {A-Spades}{3-Spades}, but found himself in need of divine assistance against {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. A {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} board turned justice on its head and Tuerniec took the pot, as well as a scalp.

Barry Greenstein Cracks Aces

Barry Greenstein opened to 3,500. His opponent shoved all in for 13,000 with A-A. Greenstein called with {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. The flop was 9-7-6. The turn was a king and the river was an 8 giving Greenstein a straight. He busted his opponent and cracked aces in the process.

Phillipe D'Auteuil Up to 250,000

Phillipe D'Auteuil raised from the cutoff for 4,900. The button reraised to 14,7000. Hussein Yilmaz called from the big blind. D'Auteuil called. The flop was A-Q-J with two clubs. The action is checked around. The turn was the {7-Hearts}. D'Auteuil fired out 18,000. Both players folded. D'Auteuil won the pot and increased his stack to almost 250,000.

In Liu of Things to Come

Is Eric Liu a dark horse for the final table? If he continues to build on his hundred plus stack he might well be. With the board reading {Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Spades}, Liu fired 5,500 and Ramin Henke called. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Liu led again, this time to the tune of 15,000. It was good enough to take down the pot.

Liu -- 107,700
Henke -- 41,100
