ElkY Dominates His Table

ElkY continues his full-on aggresion-fest and total domination of his table. Raising from the button, he was met by a reraise from the big blind. Not in the slightest bit put off, ElkY re-popped, enough to cover the big blind's remaining 12,000 or so by a good long way. After an uncomfortable dwell, the big blind folded. ElkY showed an enigmatic, unimpressive {4-Spades} and raked in the chips.

Grinder Of the Day

This award must certainly go to Aditya Agarwal, who incidentally grinded his way into being the very first person to bust out in the money back at the Budapest EPT. Mr Agarwal is still in, on a shaky but anything's-possible 7,500, and we don't believe that he's been above his starting stack at any point today.

One More Dario Bluff to Close the Night

I love to bluff!
I love to bluff!
With 8,000 already in the middle of a raised and reraised pot, the flop came down {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}. Both Dario Minieri and his opponent checked. The turn was the {A-Spades} and Minieri led out for 5,500.

"Pocket tens no good," Dario cautioned.

His warning worked and his opponent folded his hand.

"Show the bluff!" he implored, before turning over one of his hole cards, the {6-Hearts}.

Dario flipped over a {9-?} and then a {7-?} for yet another spectacular bluff.

Day 1B Concludes; Day 2 Starts at 2pm With 113 Runners Remaining

It's good to be the chip leader
It's good to be the chip leader
The 118 starters from Day 1B have now been whittled down to a mere 56, the pack very firmly led by Irish Open champion Roland De Wolfe, who has roughly 70,000 in chips.

Notable players who fell by the wayside include EPT Budapest winner Will Fry, EPT London winner Michael Martin, Luca Pagano, Sorel Mizzi, Marcin Horecki, and William Thorson. Those who will be returning tomorrow to join the 53 Day 1A survivors in the sweltering cardroom include Dario Minieri, Katja Thater, Isabelle Mercier, Mark Teltscher, and ElkY.

Join us once again at 2pm local time to see who goes up, who blows up, and which unusual salads they will be eating while they do it.
