What to Do When You Bust Out?

Play more poker, of course! The recently eliminated Annette Obrestad and Masa Kagawa are getting in on the sit 'n go action that is brewing on the tournament floor, along with several top pros who begin their tournament tomorrow, such as William Thorson and Danny Ryan.

And just like online, there's a game for every bankroll with buy-ins starting at 50 Euros and running all the way up to 20,000 Euros.

Danzer = Dunzo

George Danzer
George Danzer
George Danzer has just been eliminated from the competition after his pocket aces were cracked by Morten Lokken's pocket sevens. A flop of {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} did the heavy damage and caused some anti-climactic drama as well.

Lokken opened with a 1,525 bet on the flop and Danzer strangely tossed 2,500 worth of chips into the middle, intending to call. The dealer, however, ruled that Danzer's bet was in fact a min-raise and after a brief discussion, Danzer complied, in an effort to squelch the dealer's call for the floor.

The action then returned to Lokken who announced, "All in," and Danzer snap-called, tabling his pocket aces; Lokken then coolly revealed a pocket pair of sevens for a set. The turn and river brought running eights, giving Lokken a full house and the checkmark for the hand, subsequently sending Danzer to the rail.

Oddly enough, the hand was Danzer's first at that particular table and the dealer had almost mucked it because George was not yet fully in his seat. If only...

E-Dog's Lucky Miss

The player on the button opened the action pre-flop with a raise to 900 and Erick Lindgren re-popped it from the small blind making it 3,400 to go. Many expected the pot to be over with right there, however the player in the big blind flat-called Lindgren's reraise. The button stepped aside and the two blinds took a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Lindgren checked and the big blind fired a large bet. Before the dealer could count out what appeared to be a bet of around 8,000 in chips, Lindgren had tossed his cards into the muck.

The big blind generously flashed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} much to the delight of Lindgren who commented, "That was a good flop to miss...I had A-K!"

Lindgren is still sitting with an above-average stack of around 26,500 in chips.

Niki Jedlicka Eliminated, Maria Maceiras Crippled

"KaiBuxxe" = Busto
"KaiBuxxe" = Busto
Maria Maceiras opened the pot for 800 from the button, the small blind raised to 3,000 and Niki Jedlicka pushed all in for less. Maceiras called. The flop was {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}. The small blind bet 4,000, leaving himself only a few hundred behind. Maceiras pushed in a large stack of chips, intending to set the small blind all in (though she did not make a verbal declaration). The small blind called and flipped over {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Maceiras showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, while Jedlicka was in dire shape with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, the river was the {7-Hearts} and the main pot went to the small blind.

However, while counting out their stacks the dealer discovered that the small blind had Maceiras covered, rather than the other way around. Since no verbal "all-in" declaration was made, the size of the pot stood and Maceiras ended the hand with a scant 1,900 in chips, while Jedlicka was eliminated.

Antonius Likes The Ladies

Patrik Antonius
Patrik Antonius
In a raised pot, Patrik Antonius and his opponent saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Antonius checked the action over to his opponent who bet 2,800 in chips. Antonius deliberated in his usual style before making the call. The turn brought the {9-Spades} and both players checked. The river landed the {8-Hearts} and once again it was checked down. Antonius flipped {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, which was too good for his opponent who had {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for a missed gutshot straight draw.

Antonius is gathering momentum late in the day and will be dangerous to contend with as he uses his large stack to his advantage.

Musical Chairs

Tables seem to be breaking at a faster pace now that the ante has come into play, and as a result, new match-ups are being created all over the room.

One such table now has Johnny Lodden, Josh Arieh and Anna Wroblewski all pitted against each other. Lodden currently leads the table with just over 50,000 in chips while Anna trails not far behind with 41,000. Meanwhile, Arieh is still trucking with just under 10,000.
