Johnny Lodden Eliminated

The young Norwegian looked as if he might revive his smallish 6,000 chip starting stack early on after doubling up rather quickly to start the day, but he's since been eliminated from the tournament midway through the 10th level of play.

Ritburg Straightens Up

Hans Ritburg of Sweden has just doubled through Joe Serock after spiking a fateful straight to outdraw Serock's superior hand.

Ritburg was well behind when the money went in, holding A-3 against Serock's A-10, but a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} gave Ritburg four outs for a gut-shot straight draw, which he hit on the turn when the {5-Spades} rolled off. Unable to spike a three on the river for a tie, Serock sat motionless as the dealer pushed the pot to a rejuvenated Ritburg who now has over 30,000 in chips.

The Rubik's Cube Guy Doubles Up

Constantly Cubing
Constantly Cubing
Stephan Thiele-Bolivar, aka "The Rubik's Cube Guy," has just doubled up through tournament chip leader Dan Pedersen in another pre-flop race situation. Thiele-Bolivar moved the last of his chips into the middle - approximately 7,000 - holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Pederson made the call with two black sevens.

The board filled out {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} in favor of Stephan, who doubled through to just over 16,000 in chips with the win.

Andy Black On The Up

Andy Black
Andy Black
Andy Black has more than doubled his stack. In fact, he reckons he has played 85% of the pots at his table and this has seen his stack rise to 85,000 in chips. He has been mixing up his game while being right in the zone and he is going to be dangerous if he keeps it up.

Pedersen Eliminates Eskilsson

Dan Pedersen
Dan Pedersen
Dan Pedersen eliminated Hans Eskilsson from the tournament just before the end of Round 9 in a classic coin-flip situation. Pedersen went to battle holding {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Eskilsson with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} giving Pedersen aces up and a big boost to his chip stack. He now sits with just over 140,000 in chips.

Flink Loses Some

Robert Flink
Robert Flink
On a flop of {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, overnight chip leader Robert Flink bet 5,000 into a 6,000 pot. He was check-raised to 12,000 by William Johnson. Flink raised another 9,000 which Johnson eventually called. Johnson moved all in on the {Q-Clubs} for 24,000 and Flink reluctantly folded leaving himself around 20,000 chips lighter after that pot.

Bad Time For A Set

Hecham El Sayed had pocket tens against Juan Lapido's A-K. Hecham had Juan well covered but it was still an 80,000 chip pot. It was looking good for Hecham because by the turn the board read {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, but Lapido had plenty of outs as the {A-Hearts} was in his hand. It was a cruel {10-Spades} that fell on the river which looked a lot harsher than it was as any ace, king, ten or heart would have done for Lapido.
