Beneath the Felt Lies Wood

On a board showing {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Risto Ailamo moved the remaining of his chips into the middle holding {A-Spades}{5-Spades}. Jean Claude Perrot of France made the call tabling {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush and when he saw that he had the best hand, he celebrated by shouting, "Yeah, man! Yeah, man! Yeah, man! Yeah, man!"

For whatever reason, he then proceeded to punch the poker table - literally - and this was no love tap; he made solid contact.

Holding the throbbing hand to his face, he confessed to the crowd, "I think I hurt my hand." Minutes later a woman appeared with an icepack and some sort of pain reliever. Perrot, despite winning the hand and potentially losing another, now has ~120,000 in chips.

Cristiano Blanco Gets Lucky

With the flop reading {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} Cristiano Blanco and Cameron McMillan got all the chips in the middle with Blanco having McMillan well covered. When the dust settled and the cards turned over, it seemed that Blanco was in trouble. His {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} was trailing Cameron's {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, that is until the dealer put the {A-Clubs} out on the turn to leave McMillan drawing dead.

Cameron McMillan was eliminated in the hand.

T6 Qualifier Rowad Hadrous Enjoys the Ride

Rowad Hadrous
Rowad Hadrous
PokerNews caught up with T6 Poker online qualifier Rowad Hadrous at one of the Casinos Poland roulette tables shortly after he was eliminated from the tournament. Despite being disappointed with his finish, Hadrous was in good spirits and shared his exit story with us:

The young Swede was dealt two jacks and the action folded around to a player on the button who made it 3,500 to go. "I had about 29,000 chips and I put him all in - he had about 18,000," Rowad recalled. His opponent made the call with A-Q and managed to spike a queen on the flop to take down the pot, leaving Rowad with just 11,000 in chips.

A few minutes later, Rowad said he moved all in from the button for his last 8,500 holding K-Q and was called by the big blind who showed pocket tens. "The flop was A-Q-J and a king came on the turn . . . it was a bad beat," Hadrous explained, smiling and personable even in defeat.

Hadrous was one of several players to qualify for the tournament via the many freerolls and satellites offered at T6Poker.

Sonesson Eliminates Nateri

Christoffer Sonesson made it 3,100 to go from middle position and the action folded around to an unknown player on the button who made the call. The small blind folded which left Roberto Nateri in the big blind next to act, and act he did, moving his remaining 12,800 in chips across the betting line. Sonesson asked the dealer to count down the bet before eventually making the call and the player on the button got out of their way, setting up a pre-flop showdown:

Sonesson: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Nateri: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop looked promising for Nateri, who picked up four additional outs for a straight, but the turn and river blanked out in favor of Sonesson, who scooped up the 30,000 pot, bringing his total to approximately 90,000.

Andy Black Takes A Break

Andy Black
Andy Black
Andy Black has taken a few minutes away from table to clear his head. He was cruising early but just lost a pot where he failed to fire the last bullet on a {5-Spades}{K-Hearts}{3-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Spades} board after he had check-raised on the turn. His opponents pocket sevens were good for the pot.

Boue Doubles Through Black

Andy Black opened with a 3,100 raise from under-the-gun and a short-stacked Julien Boue sitting to Black's immediate left moved all in over the top for a total of 6,700. Action then folded back around to Black who made the call and tabled {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, dominated against Boue's {A-Spades}{J-Spades}.

After the dealer spread the {4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Black joked, "Oh . . . flush draw!" The turn and river, both inconsequential, came {2-Diamonds}, {4-Spades} and Boue's A-J held strong, doubling him through to just under 20,000 in chips.
