Roland De Wolfe Stays Active

In the first hand of Level 6 play, Roland De Wolfe added to his chip stack and sent a player home at the same town. De Wolfe raised to 900 from early position and action folded around to the small blind who moved all in. It was about 3,100 total and De Wolfe made the call. The players showed:

De Wolfe: {A-Spades}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The community cards gave De Wolfe the winning hand when they came {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}. De Wolfe played it cool as he casually stacked the pot. He is now working with a chip stack of over 20,000.

Levi Tips His Hat to Dealer

Nicolas "The Hat" Levi

A player moved all in and when asked for a count, the dealer glanced at the stack and answered 5,450. Nicolas Levi piped up, stating correctly that the dealer should accurately count the stack. The stack had lots of 25s and the dealer patiently counted them all and the total was...5,450. Round 1 to the dealer and Nicolas stood up and tipped his hat in response.

Brandon Schaefer Wins A Nice Pot

As the field has thinned (over 150 gone now) we can spot players a little more easily. Found at one of the tables near the wall was Brandon Schaefer, winner of season 1 EPT Deauville and also runner-up in that year's Monte Carlo Grand Final. I played with Brandon in Deauville and he called out as I walked by. I walked up and shook his hand and wished him luck and stood to watch the next pot.

Brandon raised it up to 800 pre-flop and got one caller, a guy who had limped already. The flop came down {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Brandon bet 1,200 after the other player checked. This was quickly called. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Brandon's opponent made it 1,700. Brandon thought for a short while before making it 6,100. Eventually his opponent mucked after calling when Brandon showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}.

Brandon now has 23,000 in chips.
