Graham Clarkson Doubles Up

Graham Clarkson just flopped a set of tens on a {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and managed to get almost full value from his opponent who had pocket queens. There was a third player in the pot who stayed for 2,000 on the flop but got out of the way when Graham and the other player put 5,000 each in on the jack turn. Graham was surprised when the other player folded on a blank river for just 3,000 into a 19,000 chip pot.

Roland De Wolfe Looks Down the Barrel of Elimination

Roland De Wolfe
Roland De Wolfe
After an unknown raise preflop, Roland De Wolfe and his opponent saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}. De Wolfe checked and his opponent bet 3,000. De Wolfe asked the man "ace-king?" before calling. The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and De Wolfe moved all in for his last 2,625. His opponent quickly counted out the bet as if to call but stopped short of pushing out the chips. He contemplated the decision for roughly two minutes; checking his hole cards repeatedly and counting his chip stack minus the call. De Wolfe waited casually until his opponent eventually folded. De Wolfe stacked the pot and now works with about 11,000 chips.

Dario Minieri Aggressive As Always

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
After winning the previous two hands uncontested with a preflop raise, Dario Minieri raised a third hand in a row, this time from the button. The big blind called and the two took a flop of {K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}. The big blind checked and Minieri wasted no time throwing out 600 chips. He was quickly called and the {7-Spades} came off on the turn. Both players checked and the {4-Diamonds} hit the river. Again both men checked and the big blind turned up {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Minieri then confidently flipped up the {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and took down the pot.

The Next Chris Moneymaker?

The prize may not be as big, nor will the winner likely become a household name, but there is a decent chance that the champion of this event won his or her seat on Pokerstars.com. Of the 700 entrants registered in this event, 164 of them won their seats on Pokerstars.com

"Gli inglesi Soltanto Alla Tavola"

Despite being a tour spanning a continent not known primarily for it's English speaking, the EPT does adhere to the "English only" rule. Today's field consists of players from 24 different nationalities and while it goes without saying, over a dozen different languages are represented. Conversational chit-chat in a foreign tongue is permitted, but during a hand the rule is "English Only At the Table."
