Massimiliano Trifoglio Eliminated

Massimiliano Trifoglio was just eliminated when his {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} could not get the better of Gregory Genovese's {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Trifoglio moved all in for 32,900 from early position and after a lengthy deliberation, Genovese made the call from the cutoff seat.

Brandon Schaefer
Brandon Schaefer
Brandon Schaefer pushed over the top of a Johannes Strassmann raise and was called quite quickly.

Brandon: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Johannes: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The players shook hands before the board of {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} was dealt, and they shook hands again after the ace on the river brought Brandon's departure from the tournament.

Todd Brunson Gives Up Some Chips

Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson
Action folded around to Todd Brunson in the cutoff seat and he raised to 8,500. The big blind, Marco Della Monica, reraised Brunson an additional 18,000. Brunson thought a bit before calling. The flop fell {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and both men checked. Fourth street brought the {J-Spades}. Della Monica checked and Brunson casually bet 22,000. Della Monica verbally declared, "Forty-four thousand," and before he could even finish making the bet, Brunson mucked his hand. Despite giving up some chips, he is still a threat with 160,000.

Soren Eriksen Eliminated by Markus Golser

Markus Golser
Markus Golser
After a raise and reraise preflop, Soren Eriksen found himself all in against Markus Golser. Golser had a virtual stranglehold on the hand, holding {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} against the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Eriksen. Eriksen remained optimistic until the river card fell, but he got no help from the community cards, and after a final count by the floor staff, Golser indeed had him covered and he headed for the door.

Home Favourite Wins Big Pot

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri
Three players saw a flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} -- Dario Minieri, Antony Lellouche, and an unknown initial raiser. There was 27,000 in the middle from pre-flop action. Antony bet 10,000 first to speak and the pre-flop raiser made it 30,000. Dario moved all in for another 49,100 more. Antony folded and the other player made the call. Dario's {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} was up against the {4-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the turn and river blanked out to give Dario a pot worth nearly 200,000 and a big roar went up from the crowd.

Nicolò Calia Picks Up a Nice Pot

Mark Flowers
Mark Flowers
Matt Kay raised to 8,000 from middle position and Paul Alterman called. Action folded around to Mark Flowers on the button, who put in a reraise to 23,000. Nicolò Calia, playing from the small blind, peeked down at his cards and quickly moved all in. Kay and Alterman quickly folded and Flowers shook his head. "You haven't played a hand in hours," he said. "Not since that ace-king." Flowers eventually folded and Calia showed two red queens.
