Brandon Abandons Us

Smooth-Schaefen
Smooth-Schaefen
Brandon Schaefer got the end of his stack in preflop with {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} and got himself a call from Simon Munoz holding {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}.

Board: {6-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {9-Spades}

With a polite, "Good luck," to the table, Schaefer's EPT Barcelona run is over.

Houghton Makes a Comeback

Hough's it hanging?
Hough's it hanging?
With around 40,000 in the pot by the turn of the {Q-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} board, Laurence Houghton bet out 21,300 from the hijack. His opponent on the button dwelled up for some time, stacked up some yellow 5,000 chips and looked as though he might raise -- and then folded instead.

"Show?" ventured the folder. "Nah," opted Houghton.

After sinking dangerously low earlier in the day, Houghton's up to a still below average but much more comfortable 120,000.

Roland Loses a Chunk

On a flop of {K-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts}, a player bet 13,800 into Roland de Wolfe. Roland pumped up the action to 50,000. His opponent tanked and then moved all in for 155,300 total. De Wolfe then went into the tank. Eventually, he folded and was left with about 215,000 chips.

ElkY Caught In The Cookie Jar

ElkY
ElkY
ElkY has dropped a few chips back having raised a turn bet on an {A-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} for an additional 33,200. His opponent thought for around 3 minutes before pushing for an additional 110,000 or so.

ElkY instantly folded, having suffered a slight hit to his stack.

Gork Gone

Go Gork at someone else
Go Gork at someone else
A gentleman raised, and then called Marc Gork's shove.

Board: {6-Spades} {Q-Spades} {2-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}

The original raiser's {3-Hearts} {4-Hearts} had come good by the end of that board, and Gork looked disappointedly down at his {A-?} {K-?} before taking his leave.

Lucky Eights for ElkY

Don't mess with the ElkY
Don't mess with the ElkY
We caught up with the hand on the {5-Spades} {8-Spades} {J-Clubs} flop, with ElkY betting out 8,400 from the small blind. Two seats down in the under the gun position, Diogo Borges raised 15,000 more. Back to ElkY, who made it another 15,000 to go.

Borges disappeared into the tank as a Wall Of Media materialized around the table. After some minutes of Borges sighing and media personnel craning to see, Borges moved all in. Insta-call.

Borges: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}
ElkY: {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}

Turn: {3-Clubs}

River: {Q-Clubs}

Thus ElkY's set of eights was good to put him up to over 300,000, while Borges made his exit.

Lex Rams Kings Into Aces

Diego Rodriguez raised to 6,500 from early position before Lex Veldhuis three-bet to 19,000. The cutoff, Yohann Yoci [Removed:250], flat-called the three-bet and action folded back around to Rodriguez. He put in another raise and made it 51,000 to go. Lex studied [Removed:250] the most as action fell back on him, staring at him to get a read. Then, Veldhuis five-bet to 204,000 with two giant stacks of chips. [Removed:250] moved all in from the cutoff and Rodriguez quickly folded.

Lex was visible upset when [Removed:250] went all in, as if he just knew he had aces. Veldhuis turned up {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} and was met by [Removed:250]'s aces -- {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {2-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} and Lex was out a total of 132,300 chips. He now has about 360,000 left.
