Santiago Terrazas Ambite raised to 99,000 and action folded to Mihai Manole who moved all in for 409,000 total after receiving a count on Ambite's stack. Ambite quickly made the call.
Ambite:
Manole:
Manole would find an ace in the window as the board ran out to double up.
A huge pot has caused the exit of former EPT Copenhagen winner Jens Kyllonen. The Finn raised to 60,000, Carter Phillips reraised to 175,000 from the small blind and Kyllonen quickly pushed for almost 1.4 million chips. Phillips snap-called.
Kyllonen:
Phillips:
The board was and Phillips had Kyllonen covered by about 400,000 to win the biggest pot of the tournament. Phillips is up to 3.1 million as a result, the new chip leader.
On the feature table, Mihai Manole got the last of his chips in with and was called by Georgios Kapalas -- but Kapalas was also holding and following a flush-free board they chopped it up.
Play has really slowed down on the non-feature table, with the players out there apparently taking turns raising a standard 60,000 except for short-stacked Cornel Cimpan who periodically shoves for his last 190,000 or so.
Nobody has called anything on that table for at least 15 minutes now.
There's not too much action going on at the outer table, but Julien Nuijten has been picking up the blinds and antes every hand it seems. He's opening with a very high frequency and no one seems to be fighting back. Every chip counts and Nuijten has increased to 1.6 million.
The very next hand after Georgios Kapalas called the clock on Asa Smith, Smith raised again, to 65,000. Kapalas put in a reraise to 158,000, and Smith shipped his whole stack across the line, a total of 484,000. A call from Kapalas, with surprising speed.
Kapalas:
Smith:
Board:
A full double up for Smith to around a million through the shell-shocked Kapalas.
Asa Smith made it 62,000 and Georgios Kapalas in the big blind was the sole caller; they saw a flop which they both checked.
Come the turn Kapalas bet out 80,000 and Smith called relatively swiftly; onwards.
They saw a dangerous-looking river and now Kapalas bet out a hefty 185,000. After less than two minutes, Kapalas rather ungenerously called the clock on the indecisive Smith. It came down to the last couple of seconds before Smith laid it down.
Marc Goodwin raised to 60,000 and Georgios Kapalas called behind. Matt Lapossie in the small blind came along for the ride too, and they saw a flop.
Flop:
Lapossie bet out 78,000, and Goodwin quickly called. Kapalas gave it up, and they saw a turn.
Turn:
Lapossie now bet out 127,000 and again, Goodwin called.
River:
With the fourth club on the board, both players checked. Lapossie turned over with no clubs, and Goodwin's set of fours was good to take the pot, putting the Englishman over the three million chip mark.
