You know things are getting serious when the big blind folds to a min-raise.
Just now Craig Bergeron made it a bare-minimum 160,00 from the button, and both small blind Stephane Albertini and big blind Mike McDonald declined to mess. Bergeron took the blinds and antes.
Mike McDonald opened on the button to 180k. From the small blind, short stack Claudius Secara three-bet shoved for his last 325,000. Timex was priced in, and to the loud cheering of Secara's rail, it was time for showdown.
McDonald:
Secara: - at risk
Board:
Secara doubles for the second time today. He's up to 765,000, less than after his last double.
Jake Cody has been picking up the aggression in the last few orbits, and we find him once again opening a pot in late position. Right next door, Michael Fratty moved all in for 1.24 million, and Cody would snap-call when it folded back around to him. With Fratty at risk, the cards were flipped over:
Cody:
Fratty:
Fratty would pair up on the flop of , but it was not the pair he was looking for. The on the turn wasn't a good card either as it reduced his out cards by one. You could see on his face how desperately Fratty wanted to win this pot, but the on the river sent the rest of his chips to Cody.
Unable to get over the hump, Michael Fratty has been knocked off in 7th place, good for €92,000 on his way out the door.
An exciting three-way flop! Teodor Caraba raised to 170,000, and both Stephane Albertini and Mike McDonald make the call.
Flop:
Two quick checks later, the action is back on Caraba. The chip leader bets 300,000. Albertini debates a call but eventually both players fold, further padding Caraba's stack.
First hand back, and blind on blind, Craig Bergeron announced all in. A moment of tension as Stephane Albertini thought about it, but he eventually passed and Bergeron took the pot.
The next hand, it folded around to Bergeron on the button - and again, he moved all in. Everyone folded once more, and he's up to 1.9 million or so.
First into the pot from the small blind, Mike McDonald moved all in to put the pressure on Claudius Secara. In the big blind, he peeked down at and quickly made the call for his tournament life. He was ahead of McDonald's , but Timex was drawing live for the knockout.
Secara's plight would further improve, and his double up would come on a board running . He's up close to 1.2 million thanks to that double dip, while Timex slips back around 3 million.
