During the first break, Gloria took some time to chat with everyone's favorite Frenchman, Team PokerStars Pro Arnaud Mattern. Always good for a laugh, check out what Arnaud had to say about being French and how his tournament is going here in the early stages.
Just before the break an enormous hand erupted between Mickael Sebban and a gentleman who, while not actually being Fabrice Soulier, rather awkwardly seems to be in possession of Fabrice Soulier's ID card.
Anyway, the flop read and Mr. Not Soulier checked. Sebban bet 1,500, and Not-Soulier now check-raised to 4,000. Call.
Not-Soulier checked again on the turn and this time just flat-called 2,500 from Sebban. He checked a third time on the river, and Sebban now bet a chunky 6,400. Not-Soulier now squirmed for some time, swearing under his breath at the ceiling. The clock was called, but before the floor could arrive at the table he'd folded.
Sebban showed him for a full house. "I had aces," sighed Not-Soulier. "So sick."
Martin Kabrhel opened the pot with a raise from early position, and Eric Haik re-raised to 2,600 in the next seat over. Kabrhel made the call, and the two men went heads up the rest of the way.
The flop brought and heavy action. After a check, Haik fired out a continuing bet of 3,100. That drew a raise to 8,625 for Kabrhel and sent Haik into the think tank. After a long pause, he moved all in, and Kabrhel instantly called all in to put himself at risk.

Kabrhel's set of sevens was way out in front, and he was poised to double up. When the turn and river blanked off with the and , he did just that. He's all the way up to 74,000 and in fine shape as the second break approaches.
Filip Verboven probably wishes he hadn't made a move right now, as he's down to just 6,500 following a woefully mistimed bluff against Mostafa Belkhayate.
The flop read and Belkhayate bet out. Verboven thought about it for a moment before moving all in - and found himself insta-called.

There were three limps and both blinds made it to the flop as well, and it was rather a surprise to everyone when, come the flop, Cyril Berdah in the small blind position bet out 3,575. It folded around to Arnaud Mattern in the hijack, and he made the call. Interesting.
The turn came the and Berdah bet out 5,000, leaving himself a single 10,000-denomination chip behind. Mattern raised to cover, Berdah called all in, and they flipped their respective holdings.
