Drawing a 'Blanc

Richard Leblanc was delighted to get his chips in holding {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} on a {3-Spades} {4-Spades} {2-Diamonds} flop against an opponent holding {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}. However, the poker gods punish things like this, and the turn and river came down the {A-Spades} and {5-Clubs} respectively making both players a straight, and while Leblanc stays in he was denied his much-needed double up.

Levi Stays Dry

Nicolas Levi and Joannn Lenne (apparently not a typo; Joannn really does have that many N's in it) got as far as the river of an {A-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} board, which Levi opted to check. Lenne bet 20,000 - but after a moment's thought Levi announced, "Tapis," (that's "all in" for you non-francophones out there) and slid his whole stack across the line.

Lenne briefly considered his options, and decided that folding was the best one. A quietly smiling Levi is now on 150,000.

Where My Ladies At?

Alexia Portal

It's time to check in with the women still holding it down. There is never much of a line for the ladies room at a poker tournament. If all of the remaining women flocked to the restroom together during this break, there would still only be 7 of them. That's less than 4% of the remaining players. But the good news for all you Spice Girls and/or girl power fans out there is that several of the remaining ladies have big stacks.

Here is where they stand:

Huo Jinfeng: >200,000
Lucille Cailly: 240,000
Catherine Hong: 155,000
Katja Thater: 145,000
Merine La Bernardie: 140,000
Alexia Portal: 120,000
Barbara Martinez: 14,000

Level: 14

Blinds: 1,500/3,000

Big Stack Gets Bigger

With the board reading {4-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}, Goghan Soysal checked in the cutoff before calling a bet from Sylvain Lanternier on the button.

They saw a {5-Hearts} river and Soysal checked; after a moment of huffing and puffing, Lanternier checked too, and was forced to turn over a mere {A-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}. Soysal turned over {J-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, and took down the 100,000+ pot to put him up to an enormous 410,000.

Eastgate Heading South

Peter Eastgate and Patrice Verdier saw a {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} flop and and Verdier bet out 25,000; Eastgate insta-called.

They proceeded to the {9-Spades} turn and Verdier now bet out 40,000. This time Eastgate insta-folded.

The former world champ drops to 105,000 while Verdier ups his stack to 260,000.

Getting His Money's Ainsworth

Hey. It's Jude.
Hey. It's Jude.
We caught up with the action on the river of a {9-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {J-Spades} board; Jean Gobin bet out 50,000. Jude Ainsworth to his immediate left thought for some moments before tossing in the call - but mucked when Gobin turned over {8-Spades} {9-Spades} for the flopped full house.

Ainsworth drops to a still very respectable 240,000.
