Threes Good for Morante

David Morante raised, and Michael Fratty called out of the big blind.

Fratty check-called 76,000 on the {2-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} flop and then another 146,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} turn, before both players checked the {6-Diamonds} river. Morante matter-of-factly flipped {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}, and Fratty couldn't beat it.

David Morante Eliminated in 16th Place (€22,000)

It folded around to Mike "Timex" McDonald in the small blind, and he raised to 75,000. In the big blind, David Morante was having none of it and re-popped for 205,000. Timex announced all in, Morante insta-called, and they were on their backs.

Morante: {7-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}
McDonald: {4-Spades} {4-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}

Morante walked off in horror, and Timex is a very lucky boy - he's up to probably somewhere in the region of 4 million.

Eastgate Going South

Peter Eastgate's stack is experiencing some shrinkage. He was in danger of falling below a million when he got involved with the dangerous Jake Cody. Cody opened to 67,000, and Eastgate (the lone big blind for the hand after Morante's elimination) defended.

Flop: {A-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {2-Spades} - check/check

Turn: {10-Hearts} - Eastgate checked, Cody bet 81,000, and Eastgate haphazardly threw the necessary chips in.

River: {5-Clubs} - Eastgate took his first stab at the pot, firing 123,000. Cody called and flipped over {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} for flopped top pair. Big sigh from Eastgate as he's down to 820,000.

Bluffing Time(x)

Michael Fratty opened with a raise, and Mike McDonald flatted on the button. The flop came {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Timex took the lead, betting out 85,000. Fratty responding by sliding out a towering stack of smaller chips that added up to 240,000. Timex gave it up, and Fratty flipped over one card - the entirely unhelpful {6-Spades}.

Bruno Fitoussi Eliminated in 14th Place (€28,000)

Bruno Fitoussi - 14th Place
Bruno Fitoussi - 14th Place
Under the gun, Bruno Fitoussi started things off with a raise to 100,000. Action passed all the way around to Craig Bergeron's big blind, and he announced a covering all-in shove. Fitoussi had 956,000 total chips, and he and Bergeron exchanged a bit of table chat before saying, "Okay, I call." Bergeron looked like someone had run over his dog.

Showdown
Fitoussi: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Bergeron: {5-Clubs} {8-Clubs}

The flop was a start for Bergeron's chances as it came out {5-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {K-Hearts} to pair him up. Just to make it a true sweat, the {3-Clubs} hit fourth street, giving him another nine outs to the club flush. Like he does this for a living, Bergeron peeled the {10-Clubs} off the deck on the river, spiking his fifth club to flush Fitoussi down the drain.

Bruno could only smile at his poor fortunes and wish the remaining players luck as he meandered off of the stage. He's headed for the payout desk in 14th place, picking up a consolation prize worth €28,000.
