Rybin Doubles Up

Mr. Rybin
Mr. Rybin
Jens Thorson raised and Maurizio Baravalle called. Ramon Demon Cserei reraised to 155,000 - and Alexey Rybin shoved. Thorson and Baravalle folded, but after some though Cserei made the call.

Cserei: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Rybin: {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}

"No ace," said Rybin. "ASSSSSSS!!!!" shouted Cserei (we know it means 'ace' in Italian, but still, it's funny).

Board: {8-Spades} {6-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Clubs}

The Russian duly doubled up.

Piper Tunes In

Michael Piper raised to 55,000 and got called by Claudio Piceci behind him and Paul Berende from the big blind.

All three players checked the {10-Spades} {7-Spades} {9-Hearts} flop before Berende led out for 77,000 on the {10-Diamonds} turn. Piper now suddenly decided to make it 255,000 to play and Piceci folded.

Berende thought long and hard into the break, looking as though he really wanted to at least call, but eventually, and reluctantly, folded to the Englishman.

Puccini 'Eights' That Board

Mario Puccini - Out
Mario Puccini - Out
Toni Pettersson made a standard raise from the button and Mario Puccini reraised all-in from the small blind. Pettersson did some good old tanking before calling for most his own stack with {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades} but he was behind to Puccini's {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}.

The flop though came {8-Hearts} {7-Spades} {K-Spades} bringing a clenched fistpump from the Finn, as Puccini could only stand and watch at the board paired with the {7-Diamonds} turn and then provide a non-helpful {A-Spades} river.

31 players remain.

Verheijen Doubles Up

We're not sure when the chips went in, but Gijs Verheijen was holding pocket sevens, Paul Pires-Trigo had {A-?} {10-?} and the board read {9-?} {4-?} {7-?} {9-?} {A-?}. Verheijen doubled to a little over 500,000 while Pires-Trigo was left with a similar amount.

Maurizio Gets Barred

Maurizio Baravalle had been nursing a short stack for a fairly long while, he made a move with {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} but could not beat Alexey Rybin's {7-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} on a {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {10-Hearts} board.

This leaves us with four tables of eight left.

Rinaldi Won't Die

Claudio Rinaldi
Claudio Rinaldi
Another double up for Claudio Rinaldi, he pushed in the big blind against Paul Valkenburg's small blind raise, the latter quickly called.

Rinaldi: {K-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Valkenburg: {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}

The board came {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} {8-Hearts} with Rinaldi getting there and then dodging a lot of bullets to hold on.

A Decent Flop for Piceci

Sforos is Out
Sforos is Out
Jakob Karlsson opened the pot to 53,000 from early position, and Nicholas Sforos moved all in for what looked like 313,000 total. When the action came to big blind Claudio Piceci, he went into the tank for several minutes, clearly considering a tough decision for a good chunk of his chips. After a couple of minutes, he announced a call, and Karlsson quickly mucked his cards to let the other two duke it out. Cards up, gents:

Sforos: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}
Piceci: {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades}

Sforos stood up to sweat his fate, and that was clearly a poor decision. The dealer spread a good-game flop of {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}, leaving him stone dead just like that. The turn and river were both deuces, and Sforos has been sent packing.
