Liv Again

Mauro Stivoli raised preflop to 52,000, Liv Boeree called from the cutoff and Alexander Roumeliotis called out of the small blind. The flop was {J-Spades} {7-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} and Roumeliotis checked, Stivoli bet 108,000 and Boeree coldly stared at the Italian before calling, but Roumeliotis folded. The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and Stivoli checked after some deliberation, Boeree fired out 200,000 and the Italian tanked, eventually having the clocked called on him.

He shook his head, clearly not happy at all about the situation he was in, but released his hand nonetheless. Boeree is almost up to a million.

Tuntsev Plagued by Demon

Giuseppe Pantaleo raised to 41,000 but laid it down when Oleg Tuntsev shoved for not much and Ramon Demon Cserei reraised. On their backs.

Tuntsev: {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Cserei: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Board: {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {9-Spades}

Out he goes.

Thang Duc...Win

With the board reading {4-Spades} {10-Hearts} {7-Clubs} {7-Spades} {9-Clubs} PCA winner Justin Gimbel was facing a sizeable 150,000 bet from former EPT Baden winner Thang Duc Nguyen. Gimbel had the clock called on him before eventually making the call for a little under half his stack, but when he did so Nguyen flipped {7-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} for quads. Gimbel rechecked his cards but then mucked and said, “No, that wins.”

Buonanno v. Nguyen II

Bye Bye, Buonanno
Bye Bye, Buonanno
Harrison Gimbel came in raising to 45,000 in middle position, and Antonio Buonanno moved all in for 232,000 behind him. When it came over to Thang Duc Nguyen, he announced a re-shove all in himself. That was enough to reluctantly fold Gimbel and put Buonanno heads up for his tournament life against Nguyen for the second time in just a couple orbits.

Showdown
Buonanno: {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}
Nguyen: {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}

There would be no chop this time as the dealer spread the board {8-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {6-Clubs} {9-Hearts}. Unable to get over the hump, Bunoanno has been eliminated as Duc's cheering section came rushing over to him for hugs and handshakes.

Emanuele Can't

Allan Bække opened to 43,000 in the cutoff but Michel Abecassis made it 119,000 in the small blind. Emanuele Rugini shoved from the big blind for less than 200,000 total, Bække thought better and Abecassis was left to make the obvious call.

Abecassis: {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Rugini: {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}

Board: {4-Hearts} {5-Spades} {K-Spades} {J-Spades} {K-Clubs}

Another one bites the tournament dust.

Pretty Standard

From middle position, Paul Valkenburg opened to 45,000. All the way around the table, big blind Nicholas Sforos three-bet to 125,000 straight, and Valkenburg called the remainder to see a flop.

It came down {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}, and Valkenburg knocked the table. Sforos continued with the betting lead, firing out 170,000 chips. Valkenburg sat still for just 15 or 20 seconds before Sforos piped up, "You're so good. You call me, now on the flop you're thinking."

Valkenburg wasn't sure how to respond. "… Pretty standard," he said. From across the table, Paul Berende piped up, "It's not rush poker." The table chuckled, and Valkenburg smirked and released his cards into the muck.
