Kayvan Payman Eliminated in 5th Place (£190,000)

Kayvan Payman - 5th
Kayvan Payman - 5th

Kayvan Payman moved all-in from the big blind for around 1,280,000 over the top of a 245,000 John Juanda raise. It was the third time Payman had pushed this level and like the others, he got it through.

Payman shoved the next hand with no callers, and then the next hand as well!

This third time, Kyle Bowker made the call on the button but suddenly David Vamplew in the big bind looked interested too.

"All-in," said the Scotsman in a quiet voice and Bowker looked pained, eventually folding.

Payman: {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts}
Vamplew: {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}

Bowker said he folded {8-} {8-} and felt a lot better after seeing his opponents' hands.

The board came {6-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {3-Hearts} and Payman went out in 5th place.

Bowker Sliding

Kyle Bowker may have been the chip elader at the start of the day, but he's just taken another small hit and is firmly in third place.

He limped in the small blind and called big blind John Juanda's raise to 370,000 to see a cheeky {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop. Bowker checked it, and then gave it up to a 400,000 bet from Juanda.

He looks a little demoralised at the moment.

Vampy Steps Up the Aggression

First hand back, and David Vamplew (small blind) and John Juanda (button) saw a {9-Spades}{a-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop. Vamplew checked to Juanda and then called his 325,000 bet.

Vamplew checked the {6-Hearts} turn as well and this time tanked for a while before calling the 485,000 bet from Juanda.

And indeed when Vamplew bet out on the {2-Clubs} river, Juanda gave it up.

Vamplew is gaining on Juanda - he's at around 9 million now to Juanda's 9.5 million or so.

Artur Wasek Eliminated in 4th Place (£240,000)

Artur Wasek
Artur Wasek

John Juanda raised preflop to 330,000 and Artur Wasek moved all-in for about 1.3 million. John Juanda did not waste much time in quickly making the call and Wasek was racing once more for his tournament life.

John Juanda: {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}

Artur Wasek: {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

The board came {8-Hearts} {4-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {J-Spades} and finally the Polish train runs out steam and Wasek is forced to disembarked in 4th place.

Vamplew Takes a Hit

Since then, David Vamplew has taken a few hits. Most notably he bet 810,000 in position on the river of a {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} board and Kyle Bowker, who'd checked it to him, tanked up for some time before calling with {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. It was good call - Vamplew could only boast {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a straight draw that had gone nowhere - and the stacks became a little evener.
