Chino Rheem made it 26,000 from the button and got looked up by Kenny Hicks in the big blind. They saw a flop.
Flop:
Hicks checked to Rheem, who bet 34,000. Hicks called.
In fact, the short version of this hand is that Hicks check-called another 60,000 on the turn and another 135,000 on the river, before mucking to Rheem's .
Hicks is now super-short on around 130,000, while Rheem, who let out an enormous sigh upon establishing that he'd won the hand, is up to around a million.
Alex Kravchenko was crippled when he was all-in preflop with against Marton Czuczor's which appeared to have 4-bet shoved against the Russian.
Kravchenko shook his head as the board came losing a 750,000 chip pot. His remaining 2,000 chips went in with against Wayne Scott's but the changed nothing.
Sherif Zacca opened to 26,000 from middle position, and small blind Kevin Stani made the call. In the big, Tom Marchese squeezed in a raise to 76,000 total, and Zacca tanked and folded. Stani shot a glance over at Marchese though, and he four-bet to 200,000 straight. A pained Marchese smooth called, Stani having about 225,000 left in front of him.
The flop came , and Stani committed that remainder to the pot. Marchese said something about not being able to fold, and he reluctantly called off the rest to put Stani at risk. It was the right call:
Stani:
Marchese:
It looked like Stani asked if Marchese meant to just flat-call preflop, but it was pretty clear the chips were going in one way or the other. Stani was going to need a queen to stay alive.
The turn and river could not provide the lady Stani needed in his life, and he has been eliminated at the hands of Marchese. With that, the winner of the inaugural NAPT event has vaulted his way up the leaderboard, nearly doubling up himself. He's at about 925,000 right now, though we'll have to let him stack up before we can get a better eyeball on that.
Fintan Gavin was all in for 134,500 before the flop with the presto , and he seemed content to race for double or nothing against the of Scott Palmer.
The flop was to add another three outs for Palmer to work with. The turn opened up a world of possibilities, though Gavin looked very confident in his ability to fade a myriad of outs.
The river was a lovely low red card, and that secures his double up. He's back in the game with about 275,000 now.
Jamie Burland, who won the UKIPT Brighton(the EPT's little sister event in the UK and Ireland) and got a free EPT London seat as a result has just flipped his way up to 690,000. He had opened preflop to 25,500 before Mohammed Barkatul reraised all-in in the big blind for about 330,000.
Burland thought for about two minutes and got a count before making the call, flipping to Barkatul's .
Tom Marchese opened with a raise from late position, and [Removed:413] three-bet next door. When the action came to big blind Joep van den Bijgaart, he moved all in, Marchese folded, and Pautrot quickly called with the covering stack.
Showdown
Pautrot:
Van den Bijgaart:
The flop came out , and Pautrot said, "Okay, spade, come on." The turn was indeed a spade, the , and van den Bijgaart had a sweat. A spade would send him packing, but the river was a red card. The chopped it up, and they'll split up the antes and the small blind as a consolation prize.
Chance Kornuth bet out 27,500 on the turn of a board and Fernando Brito flat-called; Kornuth bet another 48,500 on the river and Brito called that too.
"I have a jack," said Kornuth, but it wasn't enough. Brito turned over a flush, and took the pot.
