Robert Nulli is Eliminated in 13th Place (£30,000)

The number 13 was certainly an unlucky number for Robert Nulli as Kyle Bowker ended his dream of EPT glory, the Italian finishing in 13th place.

Nulli opened from the button for 96,000 and Bowker peeked at his hole cards before announcing he was all in. Bowker had Nulli well covered. The Italian's face was hidden underneath his cap, hood and sunglasses. He made the call, stood up, took off his sunglasses, hood and turned his cap around.

So that is Robert Nulli?

Nulli: {k-Spades} {j-Clubs}
Bowker: {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs}

Flop: {3-Hearts} {5-Spades} {8-Spades}

The Italian contingent on the rail started to murmur, "Broadway, Broadway." Bowker remained in his seat - unfazed.

Broadway had closed down for the afternoon as the turn {7-Hearts} and river {10-Hearts} ended the Italian's tournament.

Bowker didn't react apart from the motion to move Nulli's remaining chips into his already impressive stack.

Thomas Bichon Eliminated in 14th Place (£30,000)

Thomas Bichon - 14th place
Thomas Bichon - 14th place

Thomas Bichon raised to 105,000 from middle position, and John Juanda made the smooth call next door.

Heads up, the flop came out {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Spades}, and Bichon continued out with a bet of 125,000. Juanda, acting deliberately every step of the way, took his pause to stare down Bichon for a moment. Finally, he settled on a feeler raise to 260,000, sending the action back to Bichon. A crowd of media and spectators began to crowd around the table, and the television cameras watched Bichon reraise to 415,000. Juanda asked Bichon how much he was playing (804,000 behind) before making another smooth call.

That brought them to the {6-Hearts} turn, and Bichon sat motionless for several minutes. It looked like he wasn't quite sure how to proceed, and he eventually said, "I'm all in," rather quietly. You could see the gears in Juanda's head whirring as he eyeballed the pot and his own stack, eventually cutting the calling chips out to assess the potential damage. After another couple minutes, he made the call to put Bichon in danger of elimination. And the news was not good for the Team PokerStars Pro from France:

Bichon: {Q-Spades} {J-Spades}
Juanda: {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}

Bichon was drawing dead to three outs, and he could only shake his head at that predicament he'd gotten himself into.

River: {2-Diamonds}

That's all she wrote, Bichon eliminated in 14th place. It was another fine run, and it seems as though Bichon is headed for another major title at some point, but for now, the WPT Cyprus winner will have to settle for 14th place and a consolation prize of £30,000.

With Bichon's exit, we're now out of Team PokerStars Pros.

Null Point

Robert Nulli opened preflop to 105,000 from UTG and it was passed to Matt Perrins in the big blind moved all-in. Nulli snap-called.

Nulli: {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Perrins: {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs}

"Nothing silly!" shouted the English rail.

But the Poker Gods had other ideas as the board came {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {6-Spades} {8-Clubs} for a split pot and Nulli celebrated as though he'd won the tournament. He'd actually just won half the blinds and antes.

Nulli Pays the Levy

Robert Nulli picked up a few chips when he shoved from the big blind to Tom Marchese's 90,000 cutoff raise. Marchese let him have the pot.

He lost them all back the next hand, though, this time flat-calling the 90,000 cutoff raise from Steven Levy. Nulli bet out 100,000 on the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop - but Levy made it 300,000 to go and Nulli decided against it.

Mr. Nulli is now below one million.

Wasek Knows His English Numbers

John Juanda opened to 102,000, but in the blinds Artur Wasek shoved.

"One million," was the immediate reply; Juanda had barely started to ask him how much it was. Wasek, by the by, seems to have picked up enough English since he finalled EPT Berlin to have at least a basic and poker-related conversation - he didn't speak a word of it back in March.

Perhaps put off by Wasek's keenness, Juanda folded.

Thomas Bichon Does The Two Step

Thomas Bichon
Thomas Bichon

Thomas Bichon has been doing the two step.

First he took one step forward!

John Hall opened under the gun to 95,000 and Thomas Bichon made the call from the big blind. The flop was {4-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {a-Clubs} Bichon had ~1.1 million behind and Hall had ~1.5 million. Bichon checked the action over to Hall. Hall made a bet of 125,000. Bichon counted his stack, put an eye on Hall's stack and then counted his stack again before making the raise to 340,000. Hall folded and Bichon took down the hand.

Then he takes one step back!

Kayvan Payman opened from the button making it 116,000 to play and Bichon, building on his momentum from the previous hand, three-bet to 260,000. Payman announced all-in and Bichon quickly mucked his cards.

Nothing For A Per, Not In This Game

John Hall opened preflop to 75,000 and Per Ummer made the call on the button. The flop came {A-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {5-Clubs} and Hall bet out 95,000, Ummer quickly made it 200,000 straight and Hall decided to push all-in for 698,000 more.

Ummer looked vexed, as though he hadn't been expecting such a big push, but he made the call with {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} only to see Hall had flopped trips with {5-Spades} {5-Hearts}. The turn {J-Spades} brought in some audible gasps of excitment from both the players and the crowd but Ummer looked miserable when the river turne out to be the wrong paint he was looking for, the {Q-Hearts}.

Hall is up to 2 million, Ummer drops to 2.1 million.

Sick Call

Rumit Somaiya: "Are you sick or something?"

Thomas Bichon is wearing a leather jacket zipped up all the way to his chin, and it is very warm out there in the tournament area.

Bichon, laughing: "Errr... I'll tell you when I have no cards."

Somaiya: "Well that makes us all feel sick."
